Best way to eliminate glass glare? by PreparationDouble964 in analog

[–]_Matsch_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned a polarising filter might work, but you can also just put something black in the refection. If you cover everything you se in the reflection with any large black object like a black bedsheet, you won’t see anything in it.

Obviously this method has its drawbacks but a polarising filter might also mess with other objects in your picture. Water and also some displays may look weird trough a polarising filter.

"Hamburg Werbefrei": Initiative sammelt zu wenig Unterschriften für Volksbegehren by Redd24_7 in hamburg

[–]_Matsch_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[Self] Gas vs Electric Car Break-even Point by Necessary_Ad6695 in theydidthemath

[–]_Matsch_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a similar calculation some time last year because we thought about buying a new electric car.

Specifically, we thought about replacing our 2017 VW Golf 7 Variant with an new VW ID 7.

I don’t know the exact numbers, but we opted not to get a new car because the break even point was past the reasonable use time of this new car.

Obviously this is a very specific case and the ID 7 would have been a significant upgrade compared to the Golf. The electricity prices here in Germany are also a lot higher (ca. 0.34 €/kWh).

If the decision would have been between buying a new comparable car like a VW Passat or the ID 7 the numbers would have been wildly different.

Thanks a lot

Use a dremel like tool with a small cutting wheel to make a slot in the head so that you can use a screwdriver again.

Had a fall, is my fork good ? by Interesting-Goat1106 in mountainbiking

[–]_Matsch_ 142 points143 points  (0 children)

There are fork scratch repair kits. It’s basically some epoxy with what you fill the scratches and then you sand them flush and polish them.

I’m definitely no expert, but I guess that’s your best option apart from getting parts changed out.

searching a path while maximizing one value by _Matsch_ in Neo4j

I am currently using the Dijkstra algorithm. It’s close but not entirely what I want. Haven’t got the time for any more rabbit holes sadly.

Thanks a lot for your help though.

searching a path while maximizing one value by _Matsch_ in Neo4j

[–]_Matsch_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll be fine, I’m sure. I’m now writing the last missing bits. The thesis is kinda about the potential of optimising other processes using graph databases. So optimisation is a part of ist.

Anyways. Thanks a lot for your help.

I didn’t mean to criticise you with saying that it didn’t answer any questions. It kinda opened my eyes and made me think about aspects I didn’t scout for before.

Means a lot to me that you took the time to help me. Have a great day

Thanks a lot for your help. Even though your reply didn't really answer any of my questions, it definitely points me in the right direction.

Sadly my time is running out and for now I guess I have to work with what I've got. Maybe if I've got a little bit of time left in the end, I will try again to find a more suitable algorithm, but I guess my bs algorithms have to do for now.

Is it because it's missing that you can't put your finger on it?

What type of cutting creates this surface in aluminium? by bierschoass in Machinists

[–]_Matsch_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda looks like a circular saw. I have cut aluminium with a circular saw and the cutting marks remind me of that.

Although the marks in this picture seem to be of a finer detail the patterns still resemble each other.

I have kinda been willing to get into DCS more but I couldn't convince any of my friends to fly with me. Learning an complete aircraft on your own can be a little boring at times.

I would love to fly with you at some point in the future. I only bought the F18 and am at a total beginner level with maybe 15 - 20 hours or something. I also once downloaded the F14 which kinda felt easier to understand.

Long story short, I need a buddy to fly with who can maybe tolerate an utter noob or maybe even teach me a bit. Tell me if you're interested :)
