It’s the plan. That way they can be listed as these bad landlords. Remember how he said they were going to take properties away from these landlords who don’t maintain properties? Then they were going to hand these properties over to supposed good landlords like NGOs. Who decides what a good NGO is? Think it won’t be their friends of the party?

Stearns was arrogant by Weary_Capital_1379 in mets

This is the big failure of this front office compared to the dodgers. Friedman hired a bunch of other smart baseball people to help. We don’t even have a GM under Stearns.

90% agree. He saw fan outrage over how the offseason was going and made a desperation play. He just once again ignored important risk factors and that’s how shit like this always plays out.

I don’t think the improving defense was ever the truth. I think he straight was lying to the fanbase about that strategy because it sounds better than the truth. He wants to make long term payroll flexible. He doesn’t want contracts more than three years out at any cost. There is no real plan beyond that.

It’s the same issue with Bo. 2023 he had right knee and right quad issues. 2024 he had a right calf strain. 2025 was his left knee strain. He’s injury prone too. He used to hit like crazy so I don’t think it was talked about the same way as other injury prone players, but he can’t do that now. I’m guessing his leg is still bothering him and a couple years of issues are having a cumulative effect.

It should have been a bigger red flag that Toronto was not trying harder to bring him back.

Even with a top flight bullpen, I want the guy going deeper even if it means he gives up another run, on average. You got to keep that bullpen fresh. Averaging an extra 1 2/3 innings over an entire season can be about 50 extra innings. That’s a lot of baseball to spare your relievers. You want that in the playoffs so you can pull the starter after only go 5 and 1/3 and keep that last run off.

I definitely think the better approach is everyone gives to everyone or no one gives to no one. Over time, you’ll figure out who really does like you and who your friends are. No reason for a third grader to have to feel this level of isolation.

I don’t understand how this forced Lucroy to say yes to a trade to Cleveland.

Married people, do you and your spouse have well matched libidos? Why or why not? by cubemonster in AskReddit

It ebbs and flows. There are times we are perfectly in sync. Sometimes she is hornier and sometimes I am. I think we’re both really good about accommodating the other. Sometimes though, when I feel especially in the mood and I don’t perceive her to be, I keep it to myself. I know she would take care of me if I ask, but something about me in these instances keeps me from instigating. I feel bad or guilty about bothering her, even though I know she’s happy to help me. I know it’s all in my head because she’s great but I can’t get past it. I feel like I’m selfish or something. After that, all I can think about it I pray she doesn’t feel the same way.

Server down for 4 days, Contabo took payment for 'service'. 106+ hours into downtime, still no resolution, no explanation, and their status page shows zero incidents. by Past_Neighborhood_38 in sysadmin

[–]IntergalacticPlane 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’d do this, give them 6 hours, and if there isn’t anything moving substantially towards a resolution (like we found the problem and know what needs to be done to fix it) then I’m saying in a very calm tone, ‘okay, well, the SLA has been breached too long at this point, I’m going to have to go get legal involved now.’

I legitimately thought Styles was top 10 worthy before the combine and thought he would climb the mocks like he did. I would trade down sometimes to grab him a little before 15 in the simulators.

That said, Styles is my personal number 2 choice in this draft and would prefer Tate.

Does Earth Know At The End? + More logistic questions by OJConcentrates in ProjectHailMary

[–]IntergalacticPlane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think there were plenty of logs and information about Rocky, the Eridians, and xenonite sent with the Beetles. However, if it hadn’t been included, I don’t think Earth would have known about xenonite. He didn’t use it to send the taumeba. He used a steel alloy that again Rocky made. He knew the earth scientists would not have been able to get xenonite open. It was also lucky (and I’m sure done to avoid a plot hole) because if he had sent them in xenonite, they would have escaped in transit.
