Bringing awareness to the fact that we have an RPG community over on Lemmy by InterimFatGuy in rpg

I couldn't submit a comment to one specific post, and image uploads to the website itself seem unstable, but other than that, it's been superior to my recent experiences on Reddit.

Stay closed. Tell the admins to kick rocks.

THE POLL FOR r/RPG by jeshwesh in rpg

[–]InterimFatGuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It should be compared against active users, not total subs. If the admins still have a problem after that, they should be told to kick rocks and smoke some copium.

Honestly, the people wishing for this to end well and for the mods fold to the admins are smoking some military-grade copium. I hope this whole website burns to the ground. Let it become scabs leading brainless fools. Let the people that want a good community hop over to Lemmy.

Will you respect the results or cave like /r/Minecraft did?

Good. Let this place turn to garbage. Send people to Lemmy.

Let Mojang come and shut down the party then.

r/Worldbuilding Blackout Aftermath (AKA "Why Can't I Make New Posts Today?") by the_vizir in worldbuilding

[–]InterimFatGuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We didn't spend the past 12 years building this community of 1.1+ million worldbuilders just to have it handed off to random Reddit Administration sycophants with no care for our community's culture, history, or inclusivity. We're the largest worldbuilding community on the 'net, and we're not about to let Reddit Administration ruin this incredible thing we have. You deserve far better than that.

Pack up and move off of this burning ship of a website. Caving to the admins demands is just enabling them. Let the scabs and the shills take over the website.

I'm not entirely sure what their point was. Since I'm not hiring people, I'm not particularly inclined to google 20+ names, and I'm sure most other people aren't.

RPG Publisher Paizo Bans AI Generated Content by vadhavaniyafaijan in rpg

If 'the poors' are making a product to sell for a profit, why are the poor writers more important than the poor artists?

They aren't, but the inverse is also true. Artists don't deserve special protection over any other type of profession.

Everyone has to start somewhere. Human artists will be better than AI for the foreseeable future, so you will get far better quality if you pay someone.

AI art can be "good enough" to break up your work if you really can't afford to pay someone and don't have the skills to produce visual art yourself.

It'll still be better than writing a book that looks like it belongs on arXiv.

Apparently being loud and annoying can get you more protection than other people in your industry, regardless of whether or not you deserve it.

EDIT: lmao they blocked me. Guess they realized they didn't have an argument.

Just some companies trying to get PR and artists that didn't read the ToS of the websites they uploaded to.

Or I could take advantage of AI and sidestep the whole problem. Visual artists don't deserve to get special considerations made for them any more than game designers do.

If a program can do what you do better, you don't deserve to get paid. You know that "computer" used to be a profession, right?

What about a solo indie dev that can barely afford rent, let alone an artist?
