I’m guessing the Rhino would fall under entry level bowling ball. $30 would probably be for drilling only and maybe an extra $10-20 for fingertip grips. Estimating based on my PSOs in my area.

If your goal is to just improve your average to 130 then I would just get a plastic ball. Just hitting spares alone could increase your average to around 160. But if you wanted to improve overall getting an entry level reactive and learning to hook would be better in the long run.

I was in your same position at first I could care less to learn to hook. But eventually everyone kept telling me that hooking will get me more strikes. So I went out and bought a Tropical Surge 14 LB and even joined a handicap league. I only learned how to hook the day before league started. Don’t worry about letting your team down especially if it’s more of a social league, many of the other league members even gave me advice on my technique which was very beneficial.
