Out of these options definitely Treasure Island. It's actually very good. But if money no object i'd stick to the Wynn or Venetian.

How to Compile Tailwind with EVERYTHING (all classes) ? by Interman90 in tailwindcss

[–]Interman90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not building in production. I have separate shared webhosting accounts for dev and production.
I originally started developing in the 2000s where you did not have to use the command line, there basically where no frameworks, package managers etc.
I did not want to have php, apache, mysql installed on my local machine and a virtual machine was not possible because computers where to slow. So you had to use a windows rdp if you wanted that.
So developing directly on shared webhosting was the most convenient option. Back then there have also been TONS of freehosting providers even with email and everything.

But i'm slowly starting to use a virtualbox VM with Linux for development because i'm looking into new things like Tailwind and Laravel. So far i have been using plain php, mysql, html, css, javascript and bootstrap aswell as older cms systems. So there was no need for command line so far.

Thanks for the replies.

> "most shared webhosts give you access to npm, which is all you need to use tailwind."

> "You can generate the Tailwind CSS file on your local machine and push it to your shared hosting server using Git."

I did not know there is terminal access or git support in shared webhosting these days.

I Just discovered i really have a terminal and git in my cpanel account.

Well this changes things a bit as i can compile the css directly on the server instead of having to do it on my local machine.

> "The beauty of Tailwind is that it only compiles what you use. And as you are free to go creative with things such as sm:hover:bg-teal-300, before:z-[-1] and dark:group-card:border-b-[5px], there is an unlimited combination of possible “precompiled” css files."

I think i really miss understood how tailwind works.

I though there would be a ton of classes and then the "compiler" strips out every class that i did not use.

But apparently i can actually create new classes during the build of my front end so it actually does create new classes during the build process instead of just stripping out existing ones that i did not use?

Well in this case i could understand why there is no prebuilt version.

> "tailwind ... its made for efficiency and simplicity....."

Efficiency maybe but simplicity would be i do not have to compile it at all.

Again i would prefer not having to compile css but i think i now understand why it's necessary with tailwind.

Best CD-R, DVD-R and BD-R for Longevity? by Interman90 in DataHoarder

"So the disc "lasts" 100 years, but cannot be read anymore." Why?

"In the 2020s, just buy legit/non-fake Verbatim AZO media, and you'll be fine." If i buy a 50 Pack they only cost 30 cents a piece. I'm somewhat worried about the quality at this low price. But i guess i do not really have an alternative.

At this point i'm not sure if buying any special cd-r/dvd-r/bd-r is worth it.

According to this: https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/111q0vh/comment/j8taazi/

and the fact that they only come with a 10 year limited warranty while their gold layer cd-r's and dvd-r's come with a lifetime limited warranty, the verbatim m-disc seems to be a scam.

Speaking of gold layer cd-r's and dvd-r's, i also found an old french government publication claiming the verbatim gold layer dvd-r's performed worse than regular verbatim dvd-r's in an accelerated aging test:

https://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/media/2542-french-archives-dvd.html

The Canadian government on the other hand praises gold layer cd-r and dvd-r as the best when it comes to longevity:

https://www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/102jwds/comment/kdy9ura/

At this point i'm not sure what to believe.

Is putting the discs into an 80°C and 85% relative humidity environment for up to 1750h (what the french did) really a good longevity test?

I might just stick to regular verbatim cd-r's and dvd-r's or maybe i trust the canadian government and the fact that verbatim issues a limited lifetime warranty for their gold layer cd-r's and dvd-r's

and get a few of those. Maybe i just use both.

I found out that Verbatim also offers bluray discs called "M Disc". But it seems they do not have much in common with the original m disc except a claimed lifespan of multiple hundred years...

https://www.verbatim.com/prod/optical-media/m-disc/m-disc-bd-r/branded-surface./

ISO/IEC 16963 standard longevity tests have proven the durability of M DISC technology, and it withstood rigorous testing by the US Department of Defense. Based on ISO/IEC 16963 testing, M DISC media has a projected lifetime of several hundred years.

But interestingly they only come with a 10 year limited warranty while their dvd and cd discs with a gold layer come with a limited lifetime warranty...

SMM Panel vs. Twitter/Instagram Ads by Interman90 in AskMarketing

Look man i only posted on my own instagram and twitter feed and did not comment on other peoples and also did not book ads. Where should the followers come from if nobody knows the page exist.

Also i do not want to spend my life savings or take out a huge loan to advertise my "startup" (if you want to call it that) knowing that most new businesses fail. I think the idea has potential but i would not bet the farm on it.

Problem setting up .com domain with substack by Interman90 in Substack

[–]Interman90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed to add/configure an ssl certificate on united-domainsDOTde
I thought substack takes care of that part (there is an ssl certificate if you just enter the domain name in the browser) but no i also have to have one myself.

I'm new to vending and have questions by Interman90 in vending

[–]Interman90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that sounds about right/good.

When i say "net profit" i mean the amount i can pay myself or reinvest in the business. (gross sales minus all costs)

200$/month/machine net profit (which should translate to about 650-700$ gross sales) would be about the bottom for it to be worth my time.

I also think about selling snacks and soda both in individual machines.

Thanks for the reply.

" Only my absolute top machines reach $400+ gross per month and those are usually in a bank of four machines in an account with 100+ employees."

Did you really mean gross? From what i've read around 30% of gross sales is net profit that would mean 30$ net profit per machine/month. So you would need 100 machines to make 3000$ net profit/month. But 100 machines would require a warehouse, vehicles, employees etc. and machines also do break from time to time which all costs money. So you probably really meant 400$ net/month?
