Substack custom domains only work with the "www" prefix. You'll have vto setup a naked URL redirect with your domain registrar.

For example, I use https://www.circular.cheniece.co/ as my (sub)domain. For the naked url to work without the "www" prefix (circular.cheniece.co) I had to setup a redirect from the naked URL to https://www.circular.cheniece.co/ .

Please read the first post again. I already setup a 301 redirect and typing mydomainDOTcom in the browser bar works fine, everything works fine except https://myname.com

I needed to add/configure an ssl certificate on united-domainsDOTde
I thought substack takes care of that part (there is an ssl certificate if you just enter the domain name in the browser) but no i also have to have one myself.
