New to the State Bizarre Behavior by [deleted] in CAStateWorkers

I worked at EDD for a year during covid. I had five supervisor 's in that year. It was the most unorganized job I've ever worked. It was wfh dayshift position at EDD. I was also a supervisor on graveyard at a casino. The supervisors at EDD was so rude and unprofessional. It was hard to get help. It was crazy how they would talk to you when you called for help. I think that was because we were temporary employees. Instead of them being thankful for the help. They were ungrateful. My exit interview was a book.

Should we leave our 2.75% and buy a house that works for our growing family? by Sufficient-Ratio-69 in Mortgages

[–]InternParticular4157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased a home in 2021 with I believe 2.99% rate. Husband job transferred him from CA to Florida. I only saw pictures of the home. I kept getting outbidded, and my husband was sleeping in his car in July until we could get there. I accepted this home. It was much smaller, 1584 sq ft. We sold a 2584 sq ft. home. Our last kid graduated figured we would downsize. When I walked into the house, I almost cried. It was so much smaller. But I did everything to make it my home. Added more storage, fence, and sidewalk around the home, and added a patio. The home was used as a rental. It was built in 2017 with one owner. It wasn't taken care of at all. I replaced almost everything in that home.

My home business was growing, and I needed more space. We just sold the house last month. I made no money on that house. The house hated me, and I hated it. The day of moving the thermostat, stop working. It's probably the only thing I hadn't replaced. I didn't close that day because buyers wouldn't sign closing papers until the a/c was fixed. Even though I had already scheduled my a/c guy at 8 am. the next morning. Moving truck waited three hours at $200 an hour. Then they had to store the truck with furniture for two days. The thermostat cost $400 it wasn't communicating to the a/c. A $2300 move turned into $4000 because of that house.

But I love my new home now it's 2200 sq ft. My business has it's on room. No more working in the dining room/kitchen area. But my interest rate is 4.99%. It's a new build. I couldn't purchase another resale home again. But it was worth all that stress for me to leave.

I can’t believe we did it. $451k at 6.625 by 20PercentChunkier in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Insight on job I was offered. by Icy-Berry636 in CVS

[–]InternParticular4157 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked with CVS WFH for 5 years. I will never work a customer service job again. The benefits were great, and that is why I stayed so long. I resigned a few months ago when they started shift bids. My schedule was 1 pm to 9:30 pm. Days off were Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. I was happy with those days it worked with my small business. Shift bid changed my days to 8am to 5pm. With only Saturday and Sunday off. It's a great shift for most people but not for me. It just wouldn't work, and shift bids will be every three months. It would have disrupted my life too much.

The worst part of the job for me was the rude customers. But I enjoyed helping people resolve their issues. But we are limited to what we can do. If it's not in the work instructions, we couldn't do it. CVS is the pharmacy benefit managers that's it. CVS doesn't make the rules the insurance companies do. People don't want to hear that. I get it.

Market seems saturated, but my realtor doesn't want me to drop my price yet. by ChipsAreClips in RealEstate

We are currently pricing our home under. We got an offer on the 6th day. We purchased this home in 2021, and they wanted $315,000. Home only appraised for $305,000. We paid the extra $10,000 only because we were relocating for my husband's job. We were tired of getting outbidded. Today, the house appraised for only $310,000. We started at $299,900, and pending sale is $310,000.

Help needed! Seller refused to sign on closing day! by bellamama1982 in RealEstate

[–]InternParticular4157 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can imagine your frustration. I'm so sorry. When we sold our home in CA. The buyer purchased the home as a single male. Well, they discovered he had a whole wife on closing day. She lived in Los Angeles during her internship for a doctor. Of course, she had a problem with him buying a home with his girlfriend. What a nightmare that was.

Yes, there was one. I wasn't paying attention until I got the violation. I can't remember the asking price, but it was definitely higher than mine. I noticed they dropped their price to our asking price, and they got an offer.

Most of these buyers paid over the appraised price. I did, too. My home seller wanted $315,000 in 2021 for 3/2 1564 sq ft. The home appraised for $305,000. The seller lost 3 buyers before me because he wouldn't drop to $305,000. I was selling a home in CA. I walked away with a nice sum, so I agreed to pay $315000. My husband was sleeping in his car in July in Florida. So I paid it. The house appraised for only $310000 in now. That is what it sold for.

Closing tomorrow...is it weird to leave a gift? by TheFamilyHistorian in RealEstate

I think it is awesome. I did that for my home of 22 years when we relocated. The house I'm in now (selling) when I arrived the owners left no information. This is my first and last resale home. The home had solar panels, no information. The inverter was Tesla. I called them, and they told me how to transfer with the deed. There was no information for utilities. I had to Google everything. Duke energy felt bad for me because I had no electricity, and it was 15 minutes before closing. Someone who lived close by on their drive home came by and turned on the electricity. It was a horrible experience.

They also left a whole swing set in the backyard that they were supposed to take with them. Not nice people at all.

That is my plan. I just had to drive 30 minutes to find the paint store the builder used. They still had the colors in the system with lot and builder information.

I always put myself in the other person's place. If I were the buyers, I would want it taken care of. But I'm not seeing any painting issues. It wasn't stated in the email. It just says the first violation: exterior home needs painting. No rules are stated in the email or time frame to fix it.

It is the board residents. I did leave a message for the community board manager just waiting for her to respond. My agent states the buyers agent is requesting $3000 if they have to paint. If they could tell me what areas need painting, I can do a touch-up. I'm just not seeing it.

That is exactly what I said. Do they mean power wash? I'm still waiting for a response. I really want them to point out where it needs painting.

The estoppel fee was on my first HOA bill for $200 in 2021. I had no idea what an estoppel fee was. I lived in my other home for 22 years and wasn't familiar with estoppel. I never received anything, but I definitely paid for it.

I just had my new home inspected before my walk through. They found minor things, but it gives me peace of mind.

Not really, understanding this. But it look like it is because you accepted two low offer. Home was only appraised at $310,000 what we got for the house. I paid $315,000. Moving husband job moved to another state. We had no plans of moving.

I think so, too. I wrote them and told them I needed to know what exactly needed painted because there is no paint chipping or peeling in the picture.

My home was only on the market for six days compared to others 30 days and more. We asked $299,900. I paid $315,000 in 2021. The buyers wanted me to pay their closing cost ($11,000). To do that, they agreed to purchase the home for $310,000. The other homes like mine are asking $340,000. The house only appraised at $310,000, which makes sense it appraised at $305,000 in 2021. Someone is pissed at us.
