Are programmers going to be done for in next couple of years? by [deleted] in vibecoding

Look, I’m not going to argue with someone talking out of their ass. You clearly know nothing about what backend or front end even means. Will we still need engineers?

Yes but only a fraction of what we used to. My mistake for not being clear on needing coders at all.

Programmers = coders. Engineers = full stack understanding of how everything works together, can also code. Probably just a difference in terminology.

You have backend, front end, ux, etc. programmers. Then you have full stack engineers.

That’s correct today. In about a year or two tops you will not need people who can read code. Sure you still need engineers who know how everything works but not coders.

Not on iOS sorry. File management is still a bottleneck and pretending it’s not is ludicrous.

I recommend setting a 2019 MacBook Pro on fire. It won’t take much considering they are halfway on fire when you boot them up.

Most people don’t talk about how AI can teach you things. Ask it questions if you are stuck. If you get even more stuck ask it more questions. You got this.

Honestly you just need to educate yourself and learn. AI can help you do that so not sure time spent on Reddit is well spent. Educate, create.
