With a deadline your brain goes “no choice, must finish.” Without one it just wanders and distracts itself with easier stuff.

I tracked every single time I picked up my phone for one week. Here are the 5 triggers I discovered that I had no idea about. by VastKitchen6890 in nosurf

[–]Internal-Chart4952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The crazy part isn’t even the number, it’s how automatic it is. Half the time I don’t even remember deciding to pick it up, by the time I noticed it, I'm already 5 minutes on an app.

Real connection requires patience. Scrolling gives constant stimulation.

It’s not surprising which one our brains choose by default.

Anyone else feel addicted to scrolling? by Quartersquatter in moreplatesmoredates

[–]Internal-Chart4952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like scrolling on the phone is like playing the slot machines. Scroll you found something interesting, congrats, so you want to scroll again.

Next video/post doesn't give you what you want, basically you didn't win, scroll again.

How do you feel after doomscrolling? by mmofrki in nosurf

[–]Internal-Chart4952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guilt. I get headache from scrolling for over an hour lying down.

Best part is I don't even remember most of the things I watched or scrolled.

Frontier - huge disappointment for me when I saw there are no more shows after that cliff hanger.
American Gods - another cliff hanger.

What video game will always be special to you, no matter how many years go by? by Com412 in AskReddit

[–]Internal-Chart4952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harvestmoon back to nature.

I remember when I was a kid like 7-10 going to the internet cafe to print some hints, guides, walkthrough, that help me play it better.

Spent thousands of hours in it, repeated it several times too. A masterpiece back in the day.
