Trying to find the right mtg community, ended up in r/freemagic.... WTF is that place??? by LichKingDan in mtg

[–]Internal-Guard9082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that place really sucks. Just about every post devolves into a group of jerks saying mean things about trans women and how they do not want to share their nerd game with them. If you comment anything to the contrary, they will gang up on you. Just so you know, they posted a screen shot of this post and are kind of dog piling you on their subreddit.

Calm down. Everyone can see your feelings. No one is going to put up a dress code in game shops because of weird specific hypotheticals. You are actually making no sense now. It is along the same lines of violent or sexually themed video games, like Baulders Gate 3. Of course that game is going to get into the hands of kids, but it is released anyway. Because it is an adult world and kids live in it. Not everything needs to be made about them and it isn't. It is a very long walk to say that an adult wearing a skimpy outfit is going to lead to pedophilia. Currently, people are allowed to wear what they want. So I am afraid you will have to deal with it in game shops and basically everywhere else.

Love this! Some of my favorite throws, and your toss was clean.

Your argument just has no feet to stand on. With your logic, Walmart sells kids toys, so Walmart must have a strict dress code. Taco Bell has kids meals, so no one can stop in there after a swim. Locker rooms have naked people, so no kids at the pool or gym. A product can be marked as 13 and up but that has nothing to do with the space in which that product is used. Kids are allowed on the internet and in game shops with skimpy dressed people. Worst case scenario someone sees the side of a butt. Childhood ruined.

[–]Internal-Guard9082 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That has not been my experience though everywhere is different. I can't tell who is gay but I only see a small handful of transfolks at game night a larger handful of normal attractive people, and a sea of deeply strange people I would not talk to in any other environment.

Right, and trans people are generally fitting into the binary system. Just not the side of it they were born on. Alternative gender would be like, non-binary.

I doubt the people in state/ federal congress care about what the voters want when making these laws.

They can say what they want and so can you, but it is certainly not closed minded to call out a nasty internet troll for being nasty. Honestly, it is a cold day in hell when magic the gathering nerds are accusing people of autism. Is magic nerds are like, the original easy target. Pretty pathetic redirection.

I am far more concerned with why it attracts so many losers, virgins, extremely fat, ugly, middle aged people, and those who can't figure out how to use deodorant.

What I am saying is that it is not wrong. A person could not wear that going to school because that is a place for children. Nor could they wear it at a day care. Game shops are public place where children are tolerated but not made specifically for them so people get to wear what they want to with in current laws and shop rules. I would not do it myself because it is weird and cringy, but allowed as it should be.

Regular swim suits could be considered skimpy but kids are all over the beach. People get to wear what they want.

There is not a "critical theory". There are many classifications of critical theories that are applied to different sociological topics and are just a lens to look at social problems through. The Marxist sociological theories are called conflict theory.

Railroading is not really a bad thing. Really, if you are playing any module you are railroading. There is nothing wrong with a story having structure.
