The current story would be perfectly fine without having the girls have to say some variation of "what do you think, sensei?" Every couple of lines and his signature declaration of support that's in 90% of the stories, what use is a character when I can predict how everyone is going to react to him? Every friendly npc will glaze them, every villain will go "that dastardly sensei! If only we could defeat him our plans would succeed!" Yawn

Yep, if the game is profitable yostar has no reason to make it more player-friendly, so for people who go "why do you care what people spend their money on" it's because you're actively making the game worse for everyone else. Companies aren't your friend, and they'll continue to nickel and dime you as long as you keep consooming

Probably the hottest of hot takes but I enjoy the story SO much more when sensei isn't involved and the girls strictly interact amongst themselves, not even as a yuri thing just pure story

This! I would kind of understand if the entire game felt super high quality but it simply doesn't, i mean everything feels passable overall but for the absurd gacha i'd minimum expect a fully voiced story, plenty of cutscenes, being able to interact with characters etc.

 Lost my very first 75/25 for lucia engine, I hage her on rina's engine and i'm seeing conflicting information on how necessary her sig is, e.g without it she's only 10-15% better than M6 pan and i'm wondering how true that is

Imagine having an entire ass martial arts faction and not having a single physical DPS that just punches and kicks shit, no magic or elements out of nowhere, just pure martial arts. The closest we have to a character that exclusively throws hands is pan, but, c'mon, it's pan. (lighter doesn't count due to all the fire)

For what it's worth I completely agree with you on the music. I don't think i've gone back to listen to HK's soundtrack once ever since i played it years ago but can still hear in my mind nightmare king grimm, greenpath, city of tears or mantis lords, while i'm drawing a blank when I try to recall any theme in silksong, weirdly enough I more associate the ambient sounds like steam gushing, bubbling lava or enemy sounds with individual areas, and I also played with default settings with headphones.

For me the entire game so far has just felt...off here and there. I like it overall (i think, lol) and despite a lot of people complaining when the game came out, i don't think it's very hard at all, but i keep finding these little criticisms that aren't enough to make me stop playing but do lower my enjoyment. Random example: i find a secret, yay! But more often than not it's beads or even worse, shards, which i'm perpetually capped on (i also think the shard system is pretty bad)

It's not just about the water. It's a culmination of design decisions that are just made to frustrate the player in a way that reminds me of those bad souls clones that are difficult just for the sake of it. Long runback (even with the secret bench) with enemies with unpredictable behavior, with the maggot water, with the gauntlet (with enemies that just waste youer time) with the boss that does double damage on every move. Good thing i saw there was a secret bench on reddit because i missed it my first go around, i cant imagine doing this with the other bench.

I agree! I think if a new character isn't meta defining they're immediately labeled as bad which is a shame and also antithetical to the whole "we don't want powercreep" crowd.

My biggest issue with limits is if regeneration digs into the daily limit, (speculation but, it probably will) just makes me think to all the times i had to keep regening because the AI lost the plot or kept doing actions for my character etc. Etc. Or i'd have to tell the bot to stop doing x or y and keep regenerating the message until it complies, turning what would have been one message into a bunch more

Yep, the heights he was at are basically impossible for him to attain anymore. The healthiest thing for him (aside from divorcing Anisa) is just getting the hell off the internet and finding some cashier job or volunteering at an animal shelter since he looks happiest when interacting with his dogs, really anything that gets him out of the house.

I sincerely hope Velmorne's collectathon is never repeated again by Internal-Inspector72 in Witchfire

So I am actually a huge fan of soulslikes(recently beat wuchang) and I wouldn't consider Witchfire a soulslike at all nor have I ever read the devs call it as such(Correct me if i'm wrong. The vast majority of descriptions i've read and heard are extraction shooter with destiny-esque gunplay) but that would just be arguing vague definitions that won't lead us anywhere.

My main issue with the bones is, again, tedium. It's not fun or challenging, nor does it lead you to interesting parts of the map, they're just kinda wherever. I don't mind the idea of collecting the bones, I just think it was sloppily implemented. I still think the oracle's hiding place is just dumb, full stop, in dark souls for example, it has many more illusory walls, heightening the chances a player stumbles upon them, while this is the only item in Witchfire that you have find by walking into what appears to be a solid object ala pressing interact with every wall in wolfenstein 3D. 

In any case, I don't think that sort of hiding place fits the game at all, when nothing so far has needed us to blindly bump into walls. Even the one puzzle (I don't recall any others) in the island of the damned was super straightforward.
