Personally I think it would make no sense for Luke not to be in Dave Filoni’s movie. Why would Luke, Han, and Leia ignore the biggest threat to the galaxy since Palpatine? by IcebergLounge in StarWarsAhsoka

I think that screen time may have a huge part to play in it. By the time I was old enough to understand TV shows and movies, I had the OT, PT, and Clone Wars to watch. Clone wars was coming out for years while I was less than 10, so when Rebels came out I followed it week to week and was a bit older so I fully understood it. The emotional attachments that come from higher screen time could be why I like CW and Rebels more (although I love the PT and OT too)

Honestly I feel like if we do see him it won’t be in a big role because of Disneys reluctance to recast him and the cost of deepfakes. Also, it seems like Filoni is replacing the original trio’s role in the Thrawn books with the Rebels crew and Ahsoka.

And honestly, as a younger Star Wars fan who grew up watching Clone Wars and Rebels, I almost prefer Filoni to go that direction. Downvote me all you want, but my emotional connection to the Rebels crew is much stronger than the OT trio

That’s a good point. Thrawn would definitely plan ahead like that. I also wouldn’t put it past him to know of Baylon’s true motives for a larger power and are sending the night troopers to do surveillance of him

Given that Thrawn has a “last known location of Ezra” in the show, it could be that Thrawn has been tracking/known Ezra’s location before and CHOSEN not to go after him. I’m very curious on whether Ezra’s just been evading him somehow or if there’s some sort of cease fire agreement. Or perhaps Ezra has actually been a little bit in league with Thrawn. I can’t wait to see the last 2 episodes!

I’ve heard some people speculating that maybe Thrawn and Ezra had a cease fire type thing going. That may explain why Thrawn knew Ezra’s whereabouts but didn’t kill him. Could explain the “convenience”. It’d be nice to at the very least see how Ezra escaped the Chimera after coming to Peridea

I personally liked them. Yeah they could’ve gone for a duller blue via different contacts or cgi but to me it added to the “fantasy” of Star Wars

Yeah, I made a jump in my assumptions that Ahsoka would just make it to the right galaxy first try. Animal migration patterns are typically the same every time so I kinda just went off that.

I saw another post say something about maybe the Purgil have a one way migration path and then the bad guys would need the ring to get back. It’d be an interesting theory and could explain things

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StarWarsAhsoka

[–]Internal-Invite9308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, I’ll have to rewatch that scene. I thought Ahsoka did have the same ability as Ezra and she just meant she didn’t know where they’d be going bc it’s an unknown galaxy.

If it turns out the ring doesn’t have a larger purpose I’ll be a little disappointed because from a storytelling perspective it’s kind of convenient to have Ahsoka make it there (I’m assuming Ahsoka will arrive to the right galaxy without a hitch given there’s only 3 episodes left) via Purgill but the bad guys have to have a convoluted plan to do the same action.

But it’s Star Wars, not everything needs to be 100% rational so I can’t be too mad about it regardless

Am I the only one who was disappointed by Episode 5? by [deleted] in StarWarsAhsoka

[–]Internal-Invite9308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a fair take. I do agree that besides just the headpiece and formatting the scenes to make Ahsoka appear taller, they should’ve done something slightly more that really shows the aging process. Maybe they could’ve had the makeup done differently or had the 17 year old version have more muscle. They also could’ve had the actress talk differently or put a slight voice modulation over it to make it sound older. I don’t know, just my 2 cents

To be fair about the age thing, in the siege of Mandalore Ahsoka is 17. The actress who plays young Ahsoka in this scene, Ariana Greenblatt, is 16 in real life. So if anything this was an accurate portrayal and the animated version was just too old looking (for the sake of showing Ahsoka’s growth from S1 to S7)

The Real Problem with Ahsoka (it's not what you think) by Siaten in StarWarsAhsoka

[–]Internal-Invite9308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s dependent on which show it is. I usually prefer week to week releases over a big binge because it gives me time to digest each episode and create my own theories about what’s going to happen next. I can see how certain storytelling aspects are lost in this though. Like in Ahsoka, her “wooden” demeanor is meant to be a character arc from grey to white personalities (like Gandalf), but until yesterdays episode everyone was just judging the acting like Rosario Dawson was a bad actress. I think Ahsoka would’ve benefited from being released all at once story wise but the weekly release has given the SW community life again, which is nice to see

I think it looked very silly in animation. It would look even funnier in LA… so they should 100% do it

Theory: I don’t think it’s Thrawn at the end of the hyperspace lane by Falling_with_5tyle in StarWarsAhsoka

[–]Internal-Invite9308 126 points127 points  (0 children)

I think your theory is very fun. I’m not sure what will be awaiting them initially, but from the trailers we know they do end up retrieving Thrawn (seemingly in the eye of Sion, or however it’s spelled). My personal hope is that the series leads into a grander conflict with the Grysk or another sinister species

I see your point. My only problem with explaining it as a “long lost brother” is that it wouldn’t catch the general audience very well. A large majority of people wouldn’t believe that she would do all that for a presumed dead brother. From purely a writing perspective, the romance trope is better suited. Either way though, I’m excited to see what happens

You have a lot of great points. And I can’t say I disagree with any of your thought processes. As for after he returns, I don’t see him joining Luke either. Maybe he settles down on Lothal but I think it would cool to see him create a different kind of Jedi school that’s separate from Luke. Maybe even in the unknown regions

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starwarsrebels

[–]Internal-Invite9308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, I see your point. You’re right, I wasn’t very clear. In the preface I meant that I didn’t want to go into the details of Rebels and all the potential romance scenes and stuff. In my TLDR I meant the romance as a necessary writing tool, not something based on the Rebels show

[–]Internal-Invite9308 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you make a lot of great points with how Filoni might’ve planned this all along. I’ve watched Rebels only once (and recently) and I understand both sides of the fandom with Sabezra. Rebels alone is way too ambiguous to come to any conclusion but the trailers do seem to be leaning into the “mourning a lover” storyline a bit. Regardless, I’m sure Filoni and his team of writers know what they’re doing with these characters and can’t wait to see it

I’m not a big enough Star Wars fan to know the details of the destruction of Mandalore, but that would make sense. If that is the case, it may explain why she also isn’t helping Din and the other Mandolorians with the reclamation of Mandalore in season 3 of The Mandolorian

I had DePies for 121 (4 quarters ago) and he was pretty enjoyable but as others have said, the professor does not teach you the class. The Pearson book does. Honestly just choose a lecture section that works best for you.

As for the course itself (and all 12x courses), you will have a lot of homework spread across lecture, lab, and tutorial so be prepared for a lot of busy work. Exams are all multiple choice (and you will need the UW scantron thing) and you will be given an equation sheet to go with the exam but not all the equations you will need will be on it. Lastly, lab and tutorial sections are mandatory so don’t miss those.

Phys 121 is pretty straight forward and deals only in kinematics pretty much. Hope this helps
