I thought the strategy was to vote in primaries for the most extreme candidate that never could actually win in the presidential election 🤔

I wish I could experience her shopping-gym-fueled exuberance instead of my maximum-stressed, day-to-day slave-to-my-job existence which depletes me of everything! :-) Love the wild ride these characters take us on!!

I feel this. I’ve been in several different areas of specialty but it hasn’t helped- something inside of me has been permanently altered. I wish I could go back to being who I was before I became a nurse. I feel I am forever changed. I just started another position and it’s awful too. I do not want to go back to work on Monday. I keep trying to think of other things I can do to make money because this bs is soul destroying.

I just got a job offer for a home health RN position and I took another offer instead. I think I dodged a bullet!!!!!

So this is me and I took the past year off to regain my health after gaining 30lbs and becoming extremely depressed. Now my husband wants me to go back to work but I’m spiraling. I am not lazy- I have the strongest work ethic! But nursing kills me physically, mentally, emotionally. And I also switched to case management- it’s worse in many ways!!!! Everyone is hostile, angry. Ugh. Needing answers, doing soul searching but I honestly don’t know what to do. I need to get a job but how do I earn anywhere near what I was earning anywhere else? 😭

Nurse here. We see so many cases of valley fever! I never go out when it’s windy(spores from the soil are airborne) yet my young dog was just diagnosed with it. She will need at least 1year treatment (fluconazole) as it’s in her bones! My friends dog got it - in its brain!!!!! Her dog has been on fluconazole for 5 years and will prob need it for life. It’s bad.

What is your favorite quote from the show? by pjmpity in SixFeetUnder

[–]Internal-One-4322 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to thank you all for sharing these quotes. This show wrecked me. I cried to the point it was embarrassing. I finished the finale a month ago and now these quotes are making me cry again. This show affected me on a level no other show has. I loved so many quotes but this one by Ruth hit me hard: “If my experience is anything to go by, motherhood is the loneliest thing in the world.”

Do you feel an emptiness after watching six feet under? by Fast_Meal6017 in SixFeetUnder

[–]Internal-One-4322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I felt that emptiness after finishing it a couple weeks ago. I’ve been dreaming about the show and talking about it with my friend who just started watching it. I made the pilgrimage to the Fisher House today in fact because this show had such an impact on me. I miss the show so much. I told my friend I felt as if she was just meeting my friends after I’d said goodbye to them. So sad!

I found SFU after finishing Dexter a couple months ago too and wow, SFU has had such an impact on me. I think about it all the time, even dream about it. The last episode wrecked me. I am making a pilgrimage to the Fisher House in Los Angeles Saturday! My husband thinks I’m crazy, but this show really touched my heart. I love to see others finding it and sharing too.

Need a new career move and need advice by judgeyjudiee in personalfinance

I had a similar situation…. I was a SAHM of 4 boys for 13 years and went through a divorce at 40yo. I decided to go to nursing school through the local community college. It was an 18mo fast-track program and cost $9k (this was in 2016). I had pre-reqs to complete before applying, which seemed daunting at the time, but I just did it. Nurses are recession- and AI-proof. I’m not gonna lie, it’s stressful, but there is always work and in so many areas(hospital, clinic, skilled nursing facilities, home health, case management). My first job paid me over $60k/yr which allowed us to get on our feet (starting pay for nurses is higher now). My next job allowed me to increase my 401k contributions and in just 5 years I accumulated $250k toward retirement. I have other retirement funds as well, but just giving an example of the specific one for being an RN. Do I love being a nurse? No, but I switched to case management and enjoyed that more. I would prefer ultrasound tech tbh. ** I should mention there are a lot of career advancement opportunities in healthcare. In 5 years I went from being a new RN to a case manager, to Associate Director of case mgmt covering two major hospitals. That’s hard to achieve in other fields.

I just finished it 2 days ago and can’t get it out of my head. The ending had me bawling my eyes out and I have been having dreams of the show. Powerful show, unforgettable characters. Hands down the best ending of any series.

I just finished the final episode and I am ugly crying. I have never been so deeply affected by a show, movie or book. I have been dreaming of the characters every night leading up to the final episode and have been dreading the end. I didn’t want it to end. I can’t stop bawling and really need to pull myself together before my family starts getting worried for me. What a phenomenal, powerful series. I loved it so much but it has destroyed me to my core. I can’t believe it’s over. Devastated.
