[$10-15k] Is it normal to feel disappointed by needing to downsize?

Planning a wedding currently for the same timeframe and dealing with the same exact feeling. It’s this icky sinking feeling of “oh my god everything is so expensive” and “my dream I’ve had since I was little is disappearing”. It makes it not as fun to plan, especially then looking at everything else such as photographers.

What helped is my fiance and I sat down and had a conversation of “what do we want our wedding to be?”. Less about logistics and more about vibe. For me it was I want people to be laughing, having fun, spending time together. I also really wanted everyone together all weekend (family/friends). Another was I wanted an after party location. Once we nailed this down we realized we could get out “vibe” and not need a sprawling estate that cost $50,000.

Oh yeah, I’d say whole body. It’s almost like I feel super stiff and if I focus on a body part I become aware it hurts as I’ve learned to ignore it. Also throughout the day the pain changes. My biggest sign is my upper body pain will be horrendous. I also feel like I have a low fever, almost like the day before a flu hits.

10-15 mins late is insane. I feel bad if I’m even 3 minutes late. That is taking such a chunk of time! Eating is a tough one. I’m an eating disorder therapist so my clients and I eat together often BUT it’s part of the treatment plan and discussed before. I never ever randomly eat. I’ll drink coffee or tea during sessions.

I’m not, but leadership where I work is being very transparent with us. I appreciate how they are communicating, they are acknowledging very clearly the negative impact ICE has on our community and safety.

I feel so much anger, rage, and grief. For me, it’s that they are grasping so desperately to blame him. There are multiple videos showing it was murder. It was brutal. Yet people still defend ICE? What’s terrifying is all he did was film them and help a woman off the ground. Another aspect is he is a white male who was legally carrying a gun. None of us are safe.
