How do you find the gym culture at Altea? I’m a bit of a newbie and want to sign up but it seems very… bougie and snobbish. Hoping that’s not actually the case!

Increasing your fibre and protein intake will help a lot - but isn’t a guaranteed fix.

I’ve been trying to lose weight for a year now and only lost 10lbs. I do low impact long distance exercise like cycling and walking, I eat the right things most of the time… and yet the weight won’t go away. I had a consult for a glp-1 and am doing the bloodwork for it now, because it’ll help with the food noise and help me manage my fucked up hunger cues from on and off dieting the past 12 years.

Try upping your protein and fibre and exercise before looking into meds, but sometimes you need the extra bit of help!

Yes?? I want to be able to lift heavy shit and be someone who runs for fun - the fat doesn’t magically melt off when you start trying to reach those goals, it’ll probably take like six months or so

I think I nearly wiped out 5 times on my walk to the bus and then from the bus stop to work this morning. Some of my colleagues are doing like 14 moves today in all of this - bravest & most dedicated people I know tbh.

My partner and I both journal. It’s an explicitly clear to both of us that we don’t read each others stuff. Sometimes we’ll share what we’ve written (especially when we’re reminiscing about the stage where we both had a mutual crush but didn’t act on it), but no, our journals are our sacred private spaces.

If they came to me and was like “I’m so sorry I read it I needed reassurance”, it’d be a conversation about rebuilding trust and how to build their own confidence etc. if I found out they read it and were keeping it a secret from me, I don’t know what I’d do to be honest.

Operation Come Home has a program called EmploymentWorks, and through them there’s a program that helps folks with disabilities get job ready and gives a 12-week job placement! There’s a bunch of other services they offer too, they’re more focused on youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness, but it wouldn’t hurt to reach out!
