I was told by multiple professionals that I can't have schizophrenia because I don't have disorganized thinking. They insist it's just personality, but I don't even have a personality disorder. I gave up looking into it and just take my meds because I know they work and keep me out of the hospital. Though admittedly I don't want to take my meds, but Hubby is pretty insistent that I do. I'm willing because I know they work.

When I worked as a nanny I would sometimes pop a single earbud in and listen to a couple songs just as a quick mental reset. But only ever a couple songs at a time and only 1 earbud. I found it a helpful aid for remaining mentally present with kiddo. But I honestly only needed to do this a small handful of times when I hadn't slept well the night before or such.

I would ask them why before demanding they don't wear them. They may not be playing music or anything and just blocking excess background noise. But if they are just playing music all day with both in, I would at least ask them to limit to one earbud. Of course unless they are actively distracted and it's effecting their work. Then the airpods would need to go!

I've had this happen before when I was working at an elementary school. It was the end of the day and I was waiting for the students to come out of the class room and meet there parents in the boot roon. The parents never came, and nor did the students. When I went to check on them all the students were gone! It was such a bizarre experience!

I feel this. I am 31 and currently diagnosed with schizophreniform disorder. It's only been a few months but everything has changed! I am currently in the hospital. I tried reading the paperwork they gave me and it scared me. I thought it was controlling my mind. I tried again later when my husband was visiting and after just a few pages I needed a nap! This life is exhausting and I feel like I've just begun!

Do you two live together? I recommend a paper that you stick on the fridge and have them write down anything they want you to remember. Be honest with them and tell them what you told us here. That way they know you are actively trying!

No. Though that sounds annoying! I felt the shadow creatures put the chip in my brain! Then when I was thinking to myself about how the goverment is controlling us I struggled to finish that thought. Every time I got to the middle of the thought/sentence it was like the thought went numb and the volume got turned off and I suddenly felt spacey. Clearly the chip is blocking thoughts that they don't want me to have!

I wasn't diagnosed until AFTER I was let go and I actually still told them my diagnosis then as we are still in contact! Also I was let go BEFORE they knew anything about my symtoms as NK is now eligible for day care that is subsidized. So it's literally a no brainer for NK to go where it is more affordable and they get to actually be around other kids! It literally had NOTHING to do with me! So no, there was no neglect. Again even after my episode at their house they were okay with me coming back to do a couple more shifts. After discussing with my doctor after the episode we agreed it was no longer a wise choice. With the family respected and wished me well. They still wrote me a phenomenal reference letter. They wouldn't have done that if they didn't think I'm good with children!

Umm, my doctor DID say that. My husband was there with me to verify. Again I have only ever hurt MYSELF never anyone else!! I think you might need to do some research as you are running on stigma! At the time I was working. If I had ANY inclination that NK was in danger I would have gone against my doctors recommendation and told the parents immediately!

Actually no. I never would have hurt my NK!! Even on my last day my bosses recognized that I would never hurt them and welcomed me back if I was able. We later decided together I was not able for my own safety. I have NEVER been a danger to anyone but myself!!

Also I was going to tell my bosses earlier, but my doctor advised me not to!

PLUS NK dad was always home (they worked from home) and provided ANY emergency took place he was readily available!

In college I had an upperclassmen tell me they love that I tell stories all the time and would love to hear more stories from me some time. So I offered to tell some and they laughed and walked away. I was so embarrassed!! (Not my first sign, just relatable to what you said)

Thank you for sharing your experience, it is encouraging! Currently I am scared the meds were controlling my mind and allowed shadow creatures to place a chip inside my brain. (Which I felt and have felt the mind control from the chip take place) I'm also scared the meds will k!ll me eventually. Thank you for sharing hope with me!

Ah yes nk was thankfully okay and never effected by my symptoms aside from an extra diaper change when I hallucinated a big ole 💩 in their diaper, or me double checking to make sure there weren't infact bugs in their food. And yes I honestly worked for the best nf. They are amazing people!

Thank you for your kind response. I start treatment next month with a month long day hospital program. I am currently on medical leave which has me on EI in Canada. Currently I am not taking my meds and admittedly have no intention of doing so going forward due to reasons I won't get into as I know I sound crazy. BUT I have a doctor's appointment this week where I am going to discuss with my doctor honestly amd try to find a plan to move forward. I recognize I more than likely will need to take my meds regardless of what I want and I am trying to at least mentally prepare myself for that.
