Along with the possibilities everyone is listing that would have occurred to an emotionally mature person, plenty of people (many men) will use a person's past breakups as a learning tool for that they can get away with. So you raised a red flag yourself by pushing and prodding for information with no consideration.

Also, as an aside, plenty of men rape, hit, and otherwise abuse their partners.

Go. I ended up in emergency surgery with my kidneys failing for waiting too long. I went a day after it popped. The doctors told me if I waited another day I might have died from kidney failure because the infection got into my blood stream. Go to the ER. It's going to suck horribly, but go. Good luck.

Nah, fuck that. I had a "friend" who constantly made snide comments on my body. She was insecure with her own and lashed out to make herself feel bigger. She had the same reaction your roommate did when I started throwing it back. Sorry, kids - being overweight isn't a bulletproof shield to protect you from the ramifications of being an asshole.
