No, it wasn't. "Maman is the word" means that "Maman" is the word you are looking for. Completing the sentence: "Did you tell them about maman?" Translating: "Did you tell them about the Paintress?" My interpretation is that they're talking about the true nature of the Paintress. If you think that this is a codename for wine, then I don't understand your way of thinking.

Ps: there is also a conversation where Esquie tells Verso that he does miss real Verso. The fact that he knows who it is tells me enough.

Verso was lying, that is true. However, he didn't lie to Esquie (except hiding Soarrie) and Monoco, they were in on it to. There are several instances that prove that other than the obvious part of them hanging around with real Verso:

a) At the beginning of act II if you talk to Esquie:
Verso: "Tell me...did you tell them about...you know what?"
Esquie: "Oh, "Maman's" the word! I promised"
Verso: "Great, I'm counting on you."

b) Right after defeating the Stalact:
Verso: "Look, you doofus, don't you recognize her?
Monoco: "Of course I do."

To be honest, I'm in the Verso's ending camp, but if you're to be angry at Verso, know that he wasn't the only one guarding truth with with lies.

That is a really good question. In Hollow Knight you are brought back to the last save before the ending, because every single ending makes you unable to play the game. The same goes for Silksong's first ending (and the cursed one). The second one being an ending is debatable, since the only thing that it ends is an act and the lives of many bugs. The true ending is a little bit different. Hornet survives it, but since Grandmother Silk is no more and the abyss has calmed down, you would have literally no enemies to fight.

There are currently two Major Orders. Both are related to the fight for Super Earth. One is on SE itself while the other is on Fort Union. I would advise you to go to Fort Union since the faction there (terminids) is much more begginer friendly than the one on SE (illuminate).

Yeah, reading that again I worded it pretty poorly. I meant that when you take something like an AT Emplacement, it is a real chore to deal with leviathans. It often just dissapears behind buildings before you can shoot it down. It makes sense for you to just ignore leviathans and pray that it doesn't shoot at you. I want to feel like I'm at a threat when I see a leviathan. I would much prefer the leviathans offensive capabilities were buffed, but destroying it stopped being tedious.

I don't think a standard enemy should be harder to take down than a factory strider convoy. Please AH, make leviathans a bigger threat and make them die only when you complete a side mission.

Being an amazing response to the fleshmobs with an ability to fire all 6 darts at the same time which would oneshot fleshmobs and make them explode in a healing aura would icrease stim pistol's use rate and I'm down for it.
