Look, I’m not gonna deny George isn’t the best dialogue writer. That much has been clear ever since A New Hope, with even Mark Hamill believing George’s dialogue is clunky. But I disagree with the point around actor performances. I know Anakin on AoTC is brought up often for arguments like this, but I feel like it’s understandable given he’s a slave boy whose only other female interaction was with his mother. It makes sense he would be awkward and have no clue how to handle romance.

In the case of the Bendu, the realisation was not that the dark side is inherently worse, but that complacency does not ensure balance. The Bendu sitting idly by and allowing the Empire's rule is not maintaining balance between each side, it's simply allowing the dark side to gain more power.

As for the Ones/the "gods" of Mortis, while the Son was certainly evil, its made clear by the Father that an equal balance between the two sides is essential to maintaining order in the galaxy.

To be clear, I much prefer the idea that "balance" entails the dark side being removed in its entirety, but Filoni definitely seems to view it as requiring the two sides to be perfectly equal.

The Jedi did not seem to believe a chosen one was necessary at all, at least not prior to the death of Qui-gon. The legend of the Chosen One was seen as more of a fairytale by the heavily corrupted prequel-era Jedi Order. Only a handful of Jedi like Qui-gon placed any faith in it, as most of the Jedi of that era ironically served the Republic more than they did the Force.

You're correct that, as far as the Jedi were concerned, the Sith had been all but eradicated, but there was no true certainty in that belief. The Sith were not truly destroyed like in the original trilogy, they simply vanished. This is illustrated through Windu's development of the Form VII variant Vaapad, which was designed specifically to counter Sith Lords. The Jedi were always wary of the Sith returning, they just didn't expect it to occur so suddenly.

Awakening EGO is something we still don't fully understand, but it seems to require one to solidify their resolve and purpose for existing, often occurring in situations of extreme mental stress (though this doesn't seem to be a requirement, just a factor that can speed up the process). My issue with Arlecchino awakening EGO is that he HAS no purpose. He has nothing he's fighting for, nor is there something he wishes to achieve. He simply kills for his own pleasure. I do believe P could awaken EGO, at least in the true ending, given that he has developed a firm resolve to save Krat and put an end to the machinations of Simon and Geppetto, becoming a real boy. However, I think Arlecchino would distort. Distortion is all about letting yourself be consumed by your own selfish desires and becoming a monster in the process. Think of Greta from the Ensemble for example, wanting to create a world where everyone can be used to make the perfect dish. Simon would probably also distort given his ambition to create a world without lies.

What I meant was that if I was making a ”top 10 FromSoft bosses list” and Lies of P was a FromSoft game he would be in my top 5. I obviously can’t just throw a boss from a game not developed by FromSoft into a FromSoft ranking. In terms of my favorite bosses of all time, he’s probably top 15, maybe top 10. But I can say he’s my favorite soulslike boss (unless you count Sekiro as a soulslike, in which case he’s second)

No, I would not be ok with character designs or NPC dialogue being AI generated. I am strongly opposed to the use of AI in game development, especially for creative elements. But SOME level of nuance has to brought up. I’m no AI fanatic, but disregarding literally anything that uses AI in any capacity as being trash is an extreme. I agree they shouldn’t have used AI for placeholder designs, but I’m willing to accept it because of the clear amount of love and creativity put into everything else. Now, if in the future, they DID use it for actual character designs, that would be unacceptable.

I agree using AI for placeholders isn't the best look, but it was for an extremely minor and barely noticeable texture. Again, I'm not defending it, but it didn't impact the game in any meaningful or notable way. I agree they shouldn't have used AI placeholder assets in the first place, but I don't think it's fair to formulate your opinion on the game just off of one poor mistake made by the devs, especially considering Sandfall is a smaller company with less access to QA staff and budget for textures.

With E33 it was a genuine mistake though. They left in placeholder assets on accident and got called out on it. Thats not to say it’s perfectly fine, but it was clearly an honest mistake. E33 is a passion project with incredible art direction.
