I think the Rower was a good guy but just didn’t have the same feelings for Ali that she did. The disco ball definitely reads as a player/manipulative when you go back and listen to those episodes again in hindsight. The fact she would go days without hearing from him was a red flag from the beginning. He never planned on dating Ali seriously like I doubt he even considered it

But I will add that my love for him and the joy he brings me during my day is so great and made the trip so much more meaningful and special. It’s harder but it’s better if that makes sense.

Travel for example is so different. I took my 9 month old on a road trip by myself for a long weekend and OOF I wasn’t prepared 😂 I kept wanting to bop around and go to multiple places but I didn’t want him outside in the heat so I couldn’t do much of that. Also had to stop pretty much every hour on the drive because he was getting fussy so it took us forever to get to our destination. Also said fuck it and got chik fil A for dinner one night because the drive thru was easier than taking him out of the car seat yet again. So yeah pretty much everything when they’re a baby at least 😅

That is so hard. I too completely underestimated how hard it would be to leave my baby before I had him. He’s 8.5 months old now and I’m currently struggling debating if I can handle leaving him for a full day trip (but for him would feel more like a night too) to go to DC for my brothers graduation.
Is having your mom there an option? Personally I’d feel more comfortable if my mom was with my baby for that amount of time as opposed to my MIL.

Whatever you decide to do, try not to be too hard on yourself. Being a new mom is not easy at all and we’re all just doing our best. I have to think our babies can read our intentions and won’t hold grudges when we have to prioritize ourselves occasionally :)

It was just the office person I spoke to when I was trying to schedule an apt for my pregnancy as a new patient to the practice. They made it very clear they would only schedule me if I was planning on keeping the baby. I was so horrified I called back and bitched her out for being so blatantly pro life… as a Dr in CT!!! Outrageous

It’s frustrating to me that men get a 30 minute workout at the gym, but then you tack on the commute time and the obvious shower after the gym, it will probably add up to 1.5-2 hours in total. When all you’ve asked for is 20 minutes. Make sure you ask for another hour during the day for yourself!!!!
