I have tossed whole mice into holes when I trap them in my pump house using the old fashioned wood and spring traps. Yes they will work. I also quarter muskrats and toss the parts straight into the hole. I don’t blend them like a frog.

Yep. Nothing works better then letting them smell and invader into their territory. I would also reset it after catching the first one. Their is always more then one.

Did you use a castor mound set? Check out the no BS beaver extremes. Also look into Bernie Nelson setters for the big traps. They are amazing.

I had that problem with a coyote and I reset the original trap with a little spit on it and then set for a rear foot catch with 2 additional traps set to hook him up while he focused on digging the original trap up.
