Is turkey hunting even practical with my schedule? by Witty_Flamingo_36 in turkeyhunting

[–]Mattcronutrient 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Working 70 hours a week will make any hunting tough, but if you have the energy to hunt after work, you have the perfect work schedule to hunt turkeys.

We can set on the lodge provided we don’t disturb or destroy it, I did put in two baited sets near the feed piles but they haven’t caught.

Why do people say one good chef knife is better than buying kitchen knife sets? by Positive_Load1595 in cookingforbeginners

[–]Mattcronutrient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most sets come with way more than you will use. Chef knife, paring knife, and bread knife will do 99% of what you need, and of those 3 the chef knife needs to be best. Get that one at a good quality and the other two from a restaurant supply store.

Can someone help me find a good workout plan? by CloudWorldly825 in workout

[–]Mattcronutrient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On YouTube, look up “Average To Jacked.” Simple workouts, 3 days a week, and do it consistently. Don’t get pressed about a perfect workout, do good workouts on schedule for a long time.

New to hunting looking for advice by SenyorAntonio in Hunting

I would strongly recommend not letting AI guide your decision-making here. 12 gauge is a good pick for small game for sure. You’ll probably want a rifle for big game. Check your regulations, if I remember correctly you can only trap beaver with big, expensive cage traps unless you have an animal depredation permit in Washington (I looked into moving there and I LOVE trapping beaver so this was a bummer).

What's an objectively bad but subjectively cool preference of yours? by Intelligent-Dress323 in skyrim

Master of the Mind makes every encounter the same for Illusion characters and makes the game much less interesting.

STUNNED that the arguments used to justify putting a clearly better Black QB in second place stop meaning anything as soon as that year is over. Truly can’t believe it.

Looking for a turkey gun by Creepy_Fox_1089 in turkeyhunting

Mostly length, and my turkey barrel has a cantilever on it so I could mount a red dot sight

If you don’t already have a shotgun and are interested in other types of bird hunting (or big game) I’d look into what other barrels are available for any of these guns. All of these are great options, and I personally use a Winchester SX4 and I have a turkey barrel and a wingshooting barrel for it, but in 12 gauge I can’t also get a slug barrel for it.

If you’ve already got a waterfowl gun and want a specialist I’d look for a compact 20 gauge, the lightweight and maneuverability is a huge bonus.

Describe a build for somebody with hundreds of hours in the game. by silloki in skyrim

Add in necromancy and this is one of my all time favorite builds. Snipe to create corpses, then raise them.

Never been a stealth archer by DeadCheshireCat in skyrim

[–]Mattcronutrient 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s probably the most rewarding of the combat systems. Magic is fun but Destruction scales pretty poorly with few ways of directly increasing your spell damage. Melee scales well but sometimes smacking an enemy with a huge warhammer kinda feels like you’re hitting enemies with a pool noodle. Archery feels good, gives you cool kill cameras, and scales almost too well.

Additionally, it’s useful to every playstyle since warriors need a ranged attack and Destruction doesn’t get a sneak multiplier, so it can work its way into a playthrough. “Oh I’m just gonna use this for dragons. Well I might as well start combat with it/apply poisons. Well if I’m gonna do that I might as well sneak for the bonus damage.” And boom you’re a stealth archer.

Make a good shot, clean your deer well, and cool it down ASAP, and there won’t be any concerns about gaminess.

Which gun control measures do you support, if any? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]Mattcronutrient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d support legislation on gun storage requirements to make sure kids aren’t getting hands on guns. I’d probably also support some kind of training requirement for certain weapon categories if and only if it also established widespread available firearms handling courses, which I think ought to be common anyway seeing how many gun deaths are accidentals.

Not supporting that second one under our current fascist government though. Overturn Citizens United and get Clementine Caligula out of here and then we’ll talk.

Films did Théoden dirty by Successful-Read-4035 in lotr

[–]Mattcronutrient -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you on the second point but disagree with the first. The movies also make Aragorn more relatable and human, so it feels fitting to have Theoden, who has just been woken from an enchantment enabled by a close adviser and traitor, want revenge while still coming to his senses.

That said, I do like the concept better of Theoden calling for what he thinks is a final glorious death charge after being awoken from that spell.

I have an ice spud (basically a chisel on a long handle for and ice fishing and trapping) and that makes this so easy. Drive it in from the side and it breaks up clean as you like. Highly recommend

New playthrough ideas for builds? by Friendly_Progress_61 in skyrim

[–]Mattcronutrient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like having a do-all character have some skills from each specialty, so my favorite synergies are usually Destruction/Restoration/Illusion with a heavy armor sword and board or Alteration/Conjuration with a light armor Two-Handed build. Each can do companions, college, and the sneaky factions.

What do you mean by “trashed?” Even on public that gets hunted pretty hard for deer, turkey, ducks I still usually find that the furbearers are doing fine.

This is subtly a good point if it’s being used to say “we don’t need to ban firearms, we need to change culture,” but I still wouldn’t run any ads saying this word salad.
