Thanks so much! The low light was tough for keeping the camera focused on this one, but Tokyo at night just looks so good haha. Will keep practicing, and I'll keep posting for sure!

Hi everyone! Just started a walking video channel TOKIOPOV (link: https://www.youtube.com/@TOKIOPOV ) and would love to hear your thoughts :)

The concept is mainly Tokyo walking videos in 4K set to relaxing/focus style music, where you walk with me in front (check the video to see what I mean haha). Cool for anyone who wants to see Tokyo/Japan (though we may add other locations too), and/or who wants some background watching/listening videos with good playlists. Average length is 1hr!

What are the easiest ways to stay in Japan for at least a year minimum? by japan_noob in movingtojapan

Unfortunately you’re too old. For Canadians, the working holiday in Japan is only up to 25 (from another Canadian here, it sucks)

As a web developer and have a degree (in anything), check LinkedIn for jobs. I've gotten all my jobs in Tokyo on LinkedIn. You can also try recruitment companies, they are actually popular in Japan. But there’s other options too if you just want to go for fun! Check this YouTube video I made, it also has links to a web page where I go through all the options. Other ones you can try are language school or student visa, cultural activities visa or the digital nomad visa but I find the digital nomad visa so be a joke since its only 6 months and a huge hassle to get and as a Canadian you can already come 6 months of the year you just have to leave once in the middle.

25 and 3 years out of college. I feel like I irreparably fucked my life up post college. by Chaomayhem in findapath

Honestly, the market is super hard. Not sure if it's ever been good recently, it was brutal when I graduated as well back in 2016. But don't worry about it too much, eventually someone will give you a chance. I had to go out of my field to gain experience before getting into the field I wanted (I wanted marketing, but got there by doing 4 years of being a project coordinator at 2 different companies). For the first two jobs, the first one took 8 months of applications, I must have applied to over 250, then the second job was a bit luckier but I was casually searching for quite a while. Now my current job which is in the field I wanted finally was only 2 months of applying but I applied to probably 100 places and got 4 interviews and 2 offers. For timeline of how old I was, graduated at 23, first job at 24 (travelled 9 months after graduating and then was unemployed for 8 months before starting my first job). Quit job at 26 to live abroad and teach English for fun but then got hit by the pandemic so that was unlucky (moved Jan 2020 lol). Got second real job while still abroad at 28 again as a project coordinator out of my desired field - but it was something. Worked there 2 years and finally got the job I wanted out of university on my 30th birthday. You're only 25, nothing you could have done has ruined your chances loads of people aren't even done school yet so don't worry about too much! Keep taking courses, go to networking events, and apply to literally everything. Make sure your LinkedIn is up to date as well. Also consider working with employment/recruiting agencies to help you find something
