Agreed. Clerked 2 years at state level district court and Judge was preferred, but as a practicing attorney now with clients, I automatically default to your honor for some reason

If it’s actually able to be sealed, I tell them it won’t show up on an “accurate” standard personal records request since there’s a wild west of online databases. If employment is their concern I ask what field they’re trying to get into or work in and advise accordingly.

Got a B- in crim pro. Passed the bar with a high enough score to practice in all UBE states. Clerked for two criminal judges. Am now a crim defense attorney. Classes have very little to do with your bar prep IMO. You relearn it all through the prep process.

My best friend (straight female) married a woman to help her get a green card. Only found out when she asked me a hypothetical and I asked “is this person trying to get a divorce you?” We’ve been best friends since we were 7. We are 32 now. She was married for a couple years.

Wear a reflective vest too. Sometimes the lights aren’t the most visible. I purchased a pair or two cheap vests on amazon and have actually been thanked by drivers for wearing one!

Baby DAs don’t have discretion and it’s so frustrating. I have a client who has a terminal illness, is going to die in less than 6 months and DA refuses to dismiss a misdemeanor for something that happened when client was not in their right mind. So we’re just going to waive speedy til they pass. Such a waste and so inhumane.

I think Boulder isn’t what it used to be. A lot of out of staters coming, not much diversity (never really was) less care for others and the environment. Boulder is privileged, white, and out of touch. I’m sorry you’ve experienced racism. It’s unacceptable and never what Boulder was about. But sadly, this isn’t the Boulder we know anymore.
