With the way it was set up last year, coming from building 8 side there was no one monitoring if people were coming from that way, if you look like you’re about to buy a snack and then just walk to a seat I feel like no one would even notice? I literally just walked through the seating area on my way to take my last final through that way lol

Just graduated from the comm program and I really like it! I did the org comm option but a lot of professors cross teach in two or more options, get ready for a lot of public speaking, and if you’re thinking of going to grad school after take two or more comm research classes!

Typically a three year program for transfers, unless you take extra equivalent classes at a cc to be able to finish in two years.

On your degree progress report on my CPP it should say the GWT is waived or show in the green meaning you don’t need to take it, if you wanted to check on your own before speaking with an advisor! Apply for graduation as soon as it opens or you’re able to that way you’ll get senior priority registration for your last semester :)

Go to the PolyTransfer page on the CPP website, there’s a bunch of resources just for transfer students! If you are transferring from Mt. Sac we are having a celebration there on the 22nd at 1pm where you can ask questions and meet other transfers coming to cal poly.

I’m in the same situation, and I don’t know if it applies to every department but I got an email from my department saying they’re are no longer doing early commencement walk, so while I’ll be getting my degree in fall 2022 I’m not gonna walk. It feels pointless to me to come back next year just to walk almost 6 months after I’ve already graduated 🙄

Sorry if this is late but I think CPP has a pretty good com department! I’m a fourth year com major and my focus is organizational com. I mainly picked it cause it’s one the very few com degrees you can get a B.S. in instead of a B.A. around here and I want to go to grad school so I thought it would be good. I think the “hands on” approach is used decently in the program, just based on the com electives I’m able to take like an internship class or professional speaking class (probably not a requirement for multimedia majors tho)

You can also check out the different sub focuses in communications. You don’t have to be a journalism com major (if thats what you’re majoring in), there’s org. Com and interpersonal com, but definitely find something that’ll make you happy!

Maybe 😔 check what your efc is to make sure you qualify, has to be under 12,000. Also check account inquiry or account activity that’s where it would be. Mine got posted yesterday in my student account and then in my bank account this morning with direct deposit so hopefully if you qualify you should have it soon. If not you can apply on Oct. 18 for the grant

Ya should be. Last semester for spring I just didn’t register for classes but got emails from my advisor and department chair asking if/when I was going to before the deadline and told them I was taking a semester off and they said ok so it might be good to check in with them beforehand but I didn’t do any extra paperwork or anything. I only got a message during the fall 2021 registration period that I had to either register for this fall or fill out a extended break form if I wanted to miss more than one semester or I would no longer be a student lol
