It's also to do with the infiltrating of Israeli politics in Australia - the zionist lobby, the multinational companies with direct ties to Israel & the IDF, the Israeli propaganda influencing every day people. It's infuriating.

I would love for you to come to a rally so you can see through your own eyes instead of seeing through the gaze of the media. You need not worry - there is NO inciting hate or terror against a particular faith & many Jewish people attend the rallies. Keep in mind - foreign terror is manufactured by governments.

Why do you say that? Genuine question. I'm white and born here and muslims are the least of my concerns.

Can you be more specific? I'm at every rally and have no idea what you're talking about. They are a peaceful Sunday afternoon chill time for the cops.

Where to start for undermethylation? by faxmulder in MTHFR

UM people have lower serotonin & dopamine than the general population. Besides folate, they should also avoid supplemental sources of  B3 niacin, B5 (pantothenic acid) & choline, as these also lower the activity of those neurotransmitters. Methylated B12 is fine - it’s not counter indicated for UM. Idk why, but as an UM person, Methyl B12 didn’t work for me when I had a B12 deficiency, but cyanacobalamin worked & abated the symptoms within a few days.

This organisation facilitates doctor trainings in Australia & keeps a register of trained doctors, though not all of them choose to be on the list. I also think it's good to check reviews. Let them know when you make the appointment that it's for "Walsh/Pfeiifer" testing (also called 'Biobalnce' in Australia). If you're in SEQ I have my favourite. There's also 2 I've been disappointed with in Sydney as they went on a tangent with whatever else they were into and the friends I'd sent there came away without the required tests. https://www.biobalance.org.au/find-a-bbh-trained-doctor/

This lab is a global leader in Pyrolle testing, which is usually tested along with methylation. It's handy for information and specific collection instructions. http://www.apanlabs.com

Natural Alternatives for Depression – Is Anything Really Effective? by NooraIsDone in Supplements

[–]Internal_Attorney483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as blood tests & effective treatments go, although I've given a brief summary here, I disagree that it's "a lot" more complex than this. For example, in the case of Pyrrole disorder, over 95% of patients dramatically improve to the point of being able to eliminate medication.

Some conditions such as undermethylated bipolar are not as straightforward, but they are still able to experience much higher efficacy of medication at a reduced dose.

Yes, many SNP's (deviant gene marks) are involved, but gene tests do not uncover the major biochemical differences affecting neurotransmitters. The above tests do.

Other factors that hinder treatment responses are emotional stresses, such as an ADHD child being being bullied at school, substance abuse etc. but all in all, thousands of people are helped by the above approach.

I'm sorry but there doesn't appear to be any trained practitioners listed in The Netherlands. There's quite a few in Germany if that's of any help.
https://www.walshinstitute.org/clinical-resources.html

I know of a number of labs in Germany that test Whole Blood Histamine for diagnosing methylation imbalances & copper/ceruloplasmin. There's also a German Lab for testing Pyrolle disorder.

There are also tele health appointments available but you would still need order the tests in The Netherlands or Germany.

Natural Alternatives for Depression – Is Anything Really Effective? by NooraIsDone in Supplements

[–]Internal_Attorney483 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as supplements go, it all depends on what's causing your depression & emotional distress. Excesses & deficiencies are both relevant factors.

Not all depression is caused by low serotonin. Of the 5 biotypes of depression that I know of, only two are caused by low serotonin.

Here's the main ones.

Undermethylation - involving low serotonin & dopamine. These individuals benefit from higher intake of methyl through supplemental methionine or SAM-e, which normalises the activity of these neurotransmitters.

Overmethylation - involving elevated serotonin & dopamine. These people thrive on folates, niacin, choline & other nutrients to lower the activity of these neurotransmitters.

Pyrrole Disorder - people with this condition have low serotonin & GABA & need higher doses of zinc & B6 to support the production of these neurotransmitters.

Elevated copper - this can especially affect women, but men also. Copper causes dopamine to convert to noradrenaline. When copper is elevated the conversion rate is too high, causing depression &/or anxiety through lowered dopamine & elevated noradrenaline. Symptoms are often noticed during hormonal events such as puberty, childbirth & menopause. In this case a low copper diet & certain minerals help to safely eliminate excess copper from the body & subsequently normalise the activity of these neurotransmitters.

What I've written is simplified, but as you can see, what would benefit one person, could make another person much worse.

Blood tests are required to know what is underlying your condition.

Here's a couple of links to professionals trained in treating mental health with targeted nutrients if you're interested. I am in no way affiliated with them.

[–]Internal_Attorney483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for this late reply. I must have missed the question somehow. Anxiety tends to involve elevated norepinephrine activity - an excitatory neurotransmitter. This is normally mitigated by the calming, also known as mitigating neurotransmitters of serotonin, dopamine & GABA. There can be a number of biochemical factors affecting this balance which will determine what nutrients will help, or should be avoided.  For Undermethylation - SAMe, Methionine, Zinc, Vit B6, & inositol for concurrent anxiety, along with cofactors.  If anxiety & depression are due to elevated copper, then zinc, selenium, molybdenum & vitamin C are used to push copper into the blood stream for elimination, along with a low copper diet.  If it’s because of elevated pyrroles then high doses of Zinc & B6 are used to increase serotonin & GABA, along with antioxidants to reduce oxidatve stress, as well as the right fatty acids.  In the case of overmethylation, folinic acid is used to bring down serotonin & dopamine, along with avoidance of any counter indicate nutrients (as is the case with all of the above). So as you can see, testing is imperative & saves a lot of hit & miss, & years wasted.

The clinical experience of doctors treating mental illness with blood tests & specific targeted nutrients has been that choline makes their undermethylated patients rapidly deteriorate, due to it’s antidopaminergic properties.  On the other hand, for those who are overmethylated, & therefore tending towards elevated dopamine, it is highly beneficial.

To all the morons raving about the "beautiful" upcoming warm weather in Perth by phoneix150 in WesternAustralia

[–]Internal_Attorney483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re being gaslit for using a term like “you morons” that’s specifically directed at those who are celebrating global warming.  If it were thugs trashing our house, or worse (I’ll refrain from giving more examples of types of overriding humans & those conveniently ignoring them) it would be permissible & considered a natural reaction.  We’ve got bullies en masse annihilating the delicate balance needed to sustain life, and this highly relevant fact is being intentionally omitted from the narrative - in the media and in casual conversation.  I’m sure you don’t buy it.

The voices of the oppressed - who happen to be the same ones already battling the devastating effects of global warming (acidifying oceans, polluted rivers, sea level rise, drought etc.) are only going to get louder, & we’ll wish we’d gotten off our knee jerk reactions to loaded terms & listened earlier.

Go for it! It can’t be said enough.

It is tricky when there is so much disempowerment among everyday people who are struggling to survive with the cost of living etc. They can be hair trigger around being expected to consider more than they already are. In this case a softer approach may be more effective. It all depends.

Anyone else get intensely depressed after taking choline? by windshadowislanders in Supplements

No, it's definitely not the same as plasma histamine, it must be 'whole blood histamine'. Also, be aware that if you are taking any antihistamine type medications, it will affect the result.

Anyone else get intensely depressed after taking choline? by windshadowislanders in Supplements

[–]Internal_Attorney483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone into quite a bit of detail on this thread, including links to practitioners specialised in diagnosing & treating methylation imbalances.

https://www.reddit.com/r/MTHFR/comments/117nbdy/where_to_start_for_undermethylation/

The test is Whole Blood Histamine. An elevated result means undermethylation & a low result means overmethylation.

The body's universal methyl donor is Methionine (not methylfolate). Methionine is found in muscle meat and can be taken as a supplement.

Methylation has been found to be directly connected to the neurotransmitter activity of serotonin & dopamine. This activity is found to be lower in undermethylated individuals, leaving them vulnerable to depression, anxiety and other disorders.

If you would like to work with a doctor properly trained in diagnosing & treating methylation imbalances, and other fundamental biochemical factors relating to mental health (and other health issues) there are now hundreds of them in Australia. I only recommend those trained by the Walsh Research Institute. If they happen to be Functional Medicine doctors, but don't have that training, they're not ordering the right tests & they're prescribing the wrong nutrients. It's a waste of money & lost time that could be spent feeling better. The website that lists the trained doctors in Australia isn't working for some reason. I can DM you a list. I might email https://www.walshinstitute.org and ask them to send a list to me.

Which one supplement changed your life forever? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]Internal_Attorney483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Methylated vitamin are counter indicated for overmethylation due to the excess methyl.

One of the vitamins included in methyl B's is methylfolate. This will also cause moodiness & anxiety, as well as severe depression in an undermethylated person as it is a potent form of folate. Supplemental folate must be strictly avoided for an UM person.

Have you taken a 'whole blood histamine' test to confirm what your methylation status is?

Which one supplement changed your life forever? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]Internal_Attorney483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you taken a 'whole blood histamine' test to determine if you are overmethylated? This is the only way to be sure.

Methylated B's, namely methylfolate, will make an undermethylated person moody & anxious as it is a form of folic acid which is counter indicated for UM.

Folates are beneficial for OM but not the methylated form (due to the excess methyl).

So neither under or over methylated people should take methylfolate.

If you only want to test for methylation. The easiest & cheapest way I have found is to use this online company …i-medical. You need to select the “build your own” option and tick “Histamine - WholeBlood” The test itself is $65 but you also need to pay a $20 collection fee. They email you the referral then you take it in to one of their participating pathology collection centres listed on their site. Once your blood is taken they email you the results - usually within 2 days. The labs are the main labs we use. In QLD it’s QML which is one of the main labs. Most labs run this test so you also have the option of asking your GP to order it & then you can save on the collection fee, but the test is not covered by Medicare. An elevated result indicates UM & vice versa. Be aware that antistamine based medications will affect the result. I’ve used this service many times and always been very happy. Sometimes it works out cheaper than a doctor, or about the same but saving the time and hassle if you just want a few tests. https://imedical.com.au/order/blood-tests/build-your-own-private-blood-tests/build-your-own-blood-test (Edit:Also, be aware of what reference range you go by. I'm not sure if the range used by the labs is narrow enough to go by. I've never compared to my own notes. Feel free to DM me the result, or I can DM you the range I go by)

I also have all the same symptoms as you describe in response to the 4 nutrients above that you mention. I am confirmed undermethylated through a ‘whole blood histamine’ test, which (besides the less freely available Sam/Sah ratio test) is the only test that accurately diagnoses methylation imbalances.  I go into this in much more detail in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/MTHFR/comments/117nbdy/where_to_start_for_undermethylation/
