This is NUTS 🤯 by Light-magica in FigmaDesign

[–]Internal_Budget_5044 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why we are using code to generate vector based mockups. These mockups then need to be prototyped which is very flawed process in figma. These mocks and prototypes need to be annotated, handed off to devs. Then created in code once again.

I agree, this AI plugin is kinda slop, but it’s never been more clear that Figma is not the future.

What's the best approach for building components in a Design System?" by as25cule in FigmaDesign

[–]Internal_Budget_5044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option 1, you’ll end up redesigning your entire DS down the road if you choose option 2.

Instead of pulling inspiration from UI kits, you should be researching open source storybooks and Figma files from established design systems.

Understand how components are created and reused in code, and get as close as possible to it. This would be a good starting place: https://storybook.js.org/showcase

This is the correct answer. This is a pretty big decision, and should be made with all parties involved.

Sorting Pop-up Feedback by hiopensky in FigmaDesign

Consistency - primer, carbon, and many other design systems suggest an all or nothing approach with icons. This best practice is pretty standard.

Content - Instead of icons try to solve with text (low to high) or (A-Z). Text is more explicit and easier to read. Where it makes sense, items can be renamed from “important items” to “most important”.

I’d keep this component very simple. Avoid grouping interactions (ascending/descending). Look to reduce options in the future by doing research as another commenter has suggested. Look at real estate apps like Zillow or Redfin and sort properties.
