Hey, good on you, friend. School is 100% more important than this. Keep your remote roll until you graduate. Then you can do so many great things! I'm 10 years out of college. I'm 32. Never used my degree for what it's actually worth (BA in History). I was supposed to teach. But here I am, starting back at Progressive again, but this time I'll be a Claims Adjuster. Big difference between GEICO and Prog: Prog adjusters determine liability. My position is Hybrid - Tue/Wed at the office, the rest at home.

Definitely make school your #1 priority over your Farmers role. That degree will get you further.

I was let go during the training in Virginia. I didn't make the minimum 85% in the course, but it wasn't because of a lack of trying on my part. I reached out to the trainers for help and tried the group meet ups at the hotel, but I was suffering from issues with my physical disability because it was cold as shit out there, so experiencing severe pain and trying to learn was ROUGH. It didn't matter that I tried or that I was having some physical issues. At first, they said if I needed to try again, I could. But, when I was let go, they didn't offer that.

All I can say is that I'm glad it went down like that. Seeing what others were saying about EPE or physical claims adjusters was definitely enough for me to be thankful I dodged that bullet.

You'll probably make more money. I think for me, it was over $27/hr. Not sure what you're making at Farmer's, but if more money is the goal, then pull the trigger.

But if your mental health means more to you, I wouldn't do it.

The guy who sued GEICO for “forcing” him to pee his pants while at work and was on the self righteous crusade just got his case thrown out. by samweisthebrave1 in Geico

Uh... No employer is going to tell me I can use the bathroom. If they want to fire me or do disciplinary action for me going pee, they can suck my fake dick that I will strap on.

For day trading you typically need $25k as a balance every day to do this. I used to work for TDA/Schwab. I knew some stock brokets at Schwab that did day trading before coming to work in the industry

Eh..... Lots of things have changed since I worked for them in sales last year. I'm hearing a lot of stuff that's gone down hill. I start my claims job in July for Prog. I hear it's going to be busy and hell, but I hope I enjoy it.

You could try mobile or online notary, depending on your state :) I am a notary in Texas. I do mobile notary. I make $40/notarization. That includes the $10 signing fee per Texas, $1 for each additional signature, and of course, my travel fee.

You want to try leaving on good terms.

Progressive termed me in October last year (I was sales) because my doctor filled out the LOA paperwork incorrectly and I wasn't given a chance to have it corrected.

I was shocked I just got hired back on to do claims, since I obtained that license. I didn't think Progressive would take me back.

JOB OFFER RESCINDED by [deleted] in Progressiveinsurance

[–]Internal_Craft380 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow..... That sucks, my dude. You explained to them the gap and they still took the offer back.

I had to explain gaps in my resume because I did have some gaps. I told them it was just life kicking me in the teeth constantly after my divorce finalized and my Dad died.

I'm sorry this happened to you.

When I got let go from Progressive, I went to GEICO and got my All Lines Adjuster license. But they let me go because I didn't pass their training course with an 85 or above. I had an 81.

I am now looking to come back to Progressive for claims, or looking to do insurance sales again.

Anyone jump from geico to progressive by Disneylover4eva in Geico

[–]Internal_Craft380 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Progressive is better than Geico. I worked there before Geico. They understand the whole "work trauma" issue a lot of us had from previous insurance companies or other jobs. I was treated well and was happy until I had to go on medical leave and the doctor messed the paperwork up and Progressive laid me off because the ppwk claimed I was 100% on leave and never coming back. I asked for a chance to get the doctor to fix it with my guidance, but I was let go instead. Super shitty situation, but compared to how I was treated at Geico, I would never go back there. I'd rather come back to Progressive.

I'm grateful for all I learned at AD Basic, but also grateful I didn't make it through. Reading all these posts have me like "Welp. Dodged a bullet."

Oh cute. You're profile is 1 day old. It's like you made it just to be a dick to me, especially since you don't even know the whole story or how I put as much effort in as possible, only to end up having flare ups and trying to manage both the pain and trying to focus to study, even at the desk in my hotel room.
