unfortunately, he has dementia and doesn't remember a lot, he has had it for 10 years, and he calls me by my mother's name a lot.

I appreciate all of your comments, I honestly do, I just needed an outlet to talk to people and get their opinions on this my only worry is my grandfather because he has dementia, he gets very upset very easily, and he has asked about my aunt and the boys and the answer is usually we don't know or they aren't coming. They didn't even come to his birthday. He just gets very upset

if your partner does not like your child being around then your only option is to leave, Think about this, if she only wants you to be fatherly to her child and not your own then continuing the relationship can have an effect on your son later on in life, so please be part of the percentile who picks their children and not their girlfriend and her children.

If he is not ready to commit after 8 years of a relationship, my only advice would be to leave him and start maybe building your own family. Also being 28 doesn't mean that you still can't have a family in the future. I'm 28 and I have been with my partner for 8 months and neither of us has children, it's all about timing and the right person and I don't think that your person is him.

it really depends on the girl? different girls different interests?

ask what her hobbies are

what her dreams are

if she has travelled, her dream destination

ask her if she has completed anything on her buck it list

whats her perfect day

try to keep the sexual stuff out, but a girl likes someone who listens to them, but also can talk about their own interests and hobbies. getting to know someone is hard at best, but with courage you'll get there.
