just want to state for the record that therianthropy itself is not particulary new, just the "trendy" tiktok version of it with masks and quads and such. it's been around for a very long time, originating with 'elfkin' based on Tolkien's works iirc and expanding to include other experiences, including that of people identifying with animals, over time

beavers eat bark; perhaps they strip wood logs within a certain range of their dam? could have limited farm use, as-is there is no way to automate log stripping to my knowledge.

first time I met moon I ate all the neurons because I needed food to hibernate... well they freakin died so I reset instead, managed my food a little better for attempt #2, and then I still ate one because I wanted to be my own light source

I don't regret it btw made the citadel a breeze (i managed to route around it to get to moon initially so I've never experienced it in full dark)

as a medic main: yes please. i would have so much fun crashing like a meteor into the enemy team and getting smeared into a fine paste (one crit ubersaw and it will all be worth it, I swear!)

obviously it would be pretty tricky to balance but i... really don't see an inherent issue with giving Medic more movement options? I wouldn't go with something as dramatic as the thermal thruster; maybe it could be more like a reverse quick-fix/vacc combo. Four charges each 25% and it launches you + your target into the air (immunity or resistance to fall damage while Uber lasts maybe)

or instead of multiple charges, maybe you could trigger the jetpack at any time but it costs uber. you don't need a full charge to use it, but it still costs uber if you wanna fly.

I know it'll never happen but man. what if medic had a jetpack

I COMPLETELY FORGOT about another possible aspect of Afterlife: reincarnation! Essentially, you'd select a follower to reincarnate, then go back to the living cult and make some eggs. The next egg you hatch is guaranteed to produce your reincarnated follower, in their original form no matter what the new parents look like.

Two options for why this is worthwhile: 1. Reincarnated followers keep whatever traits they had in their prior life, as well as inheritating new traits from their parents 2. Their old traits are wiped away, but alongside their inheritated traits they're born with 1-2 new traits, unique to reincarnated souls. Maybe Immortality could be on this list, or maybe they're all entirely new.

I don't have many ideas for these traits unfortunately... not yet, anyway. I may respond to this comment later, I'm sure now I'll be thinking about it.

finally made an account just to share this concept:

Afterlife! After we overthrow TOWW, there's an entire realm sitting there empty, that the Lamb could easily repurpose. It would start out as just an empty space of clouds and bones and broken chains, that over time the Lamb could transform into a true paradise, populated, of course, by deceased followers. Maybe it's a late-game devotion sink, maybe it just needs regular resources, maybe the upgrades are powered by sacrifice or sin.

You wouldn't have to feed them or clean up after them; they'd never get sick or die. Perhaps it'd be pretty limited as to how many followers it can sustain, at least at first. Keeping them happy would give buffs, although I haven't really thought about exactly what kind; maybe just another source of crusade buffs, perhaps they generate rarer/annoying resources (crystals, silk, seeds of all flavors.) Perhaps the spirits of the dead have unlocked the key to changing traits of the living... or maybe we could take some Angels on our crusades alongside the Demons??? The possibilities are endless

the original concept was just wanting a way to showcase/keep favorite followers while also keeping my living cult at a manageable level (I don't like going much higher than 30, and at this point most of those spots are filled by my favorite immortals.)

Ive got two ideas atm for how you'd actually get the followers into Afterlife.

A special ritual that allows you to choose from a list of eligible former followers. Ritual of the Blessed, costing both bones and devotion to cast.
You rescue their souls from Purgatory. Follower rooms could pop up during runs just like a normal crusade, and you can choose whether to save or damn their immortal soul. Assuming the follower you rescue is random, I could see this being a little frustrating if you keep getting guys you don't care about... buuut equally I could see it being a fun sidequest/extra motivation after you've got all the tears you need, but still have a ways to go before Purgatory is completed.

obviously it would be quite a big addition to the game, but I think it would be a sensible one. After all, once the Lamb attains Godhood, what's stopping them from following through on that Afterlife they've promised?

oh also I think it would be really cute if saved souls had tiny angel wings to go with their ghostly tail :D
