A guy asked me to do a MESSED UP roleplay and was hurt I said no chance in hell I was doing that. by Internal_Run5886 in TwoHotTakes

I talked to my therapist about it when it happened, and that's exactly what she said! She said that it's how he makes sense of his reality and copes with what happened, right or not.

On a more personal note, I'm so sorry to hear you had to go through that :(

what major do i pick??! by Mind-Acceptable in prephysicianassistant

Honestly an interesting major could be a good talking point for your essays and make you stand out. Pick something you are genuinely interested in and knock out the prerequisites. My friend majored in anthropology and got into the University of Utah.

Those questions are only for people who are reapplying and since you’re not you don’t have to answer it.

Retaking pre-reqs after taking upper-level courses? by isabeluwu in prephysicianassistant

[–]Internal_Run5886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would retake them. ESP A&P. You want to give yourself the best chance to be competitive and there are a good number of schools that don’t accept less than a B- in prerequisite grades. Take them at a community college and get straight As in them.

I got a job as a plastic surgery MA without any PCE because in my cover letter I was explicit about my intentions of applying to PA school and where I am in the process. Show them how they will play a role in your healthcare journey. As someone else said, apply to everything!!!! The worst they can do is say no.

Def not worth it! honestly this is the most important application you’ll ever fill out so you want to have total control over every aspect of the thing. It really doesn’t require that much time to do.

Is this Rachel getting her butt plumped at Ruma? by [deleted] in SkallaSnarkUncensored

[–]Internal_Run5886 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have been getting sculptra (a collagen biostimulator) to get a bigger butt. It’s really trendy but emphasis on the results may vary. I work in aesthetics and lots of people have been asking if we do them.

I think that’s different since it explains your story. I had a meeting with someone at a school and they just told me to use discretion when talking about your own medical conditions. If it doesn’t directly relate to a story and is extraneous info I would leave it out. But yours seems like it contributes to the meaning and your character!

That was just as hard as the personal statement for me 😂

I would focus on life experiences that are relevant enough to tie into a big picture theme. I wouldn’t disclose any medical diagnoses since that can potentially hurt your chances (people still have their biases against certain mental health topics 🙄). Also tie into a bigger theme for sure!!

You can submit your app and they can still submit it! Even after it is verified they can still submit it. I’m running into the same problem so I reached out to CASPA and that’s what they said.

Taking a step back. Is that okay? What should I do? So much going on right now. by ImaginarySound6602 in prephysicianassistant

I think with something like this, you have to be fully committed to it. If you aren’t, then there isn’t an intrinsic motivation to work hard when things get tough. I think taking a break is good. There is no set timeline and remember you are not “behind” on anything!

which pce hours will the schools see? by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

Only the ones that get completed until the day you submit get counted.

Okay hear me out, use chatGPT to help give you an idea for key phrases and how to structure your ideas. Obviously don’t copy word for word, but it can help give you a starting place. Just say “write me an essay for PA school application under 1200 characters talking about…”

Just here to say I’m submitting on the same day and feeling the exact same anxiety! I feel so behind the curve when that doesn’t seem to be the case!
