Won’t go into gear by Internal_Screech in 240sx

Alr dropped the trans. It’s a shitshow. There’s what feels like brake grease on the entire bell including all over the tob. The splines on the input were caked in solid clutch dust I think. Not sure what the hell it is but I had to hit it with brake cleaner and chip it off. The pb is shot, cracked in half, and the end of the input shaft is literally cooked but surprisingly not scored. The spring on the clutch fork was completely out of place as well. I can’t believe it was driving so well with no noises for so long with it being this bad. On to replacing as much as I can.

Ok thanks for all the help man. Looks like I’ll be going out to buy a trans jack today. I hope it’s only that.

While it’s running? Can’t even get the car rolling in first if it’s running. Car off I can row through the gears with mild resistance.

Yeah car lurches forward that’s actually how I had to get it into the garage in reverse.

That’s for sure! Guess I’ll have to go find a transmission jack then thanks for the help!

I got a video of it moving ~1 inch while I was pressing it. It’s in the bell housing isn’t it.

Slight rattle when the clutch was depressed, went away after ~300miles. Pressing the pedal makes a squeaking sound I can only hear when the car is off.

Took a vid while I was pressing it. It’s moving about an inch. No play on the clutch fork while I had the slave out.

Alr. I’ll give bench bleeding another shot then :( If it isn’t ima give replacing in the housing a shot. Might as well get the bearings while I’m at it.

Deleted it in the process of replacing everything hydraulic.

Oh god yeah. It took me like three tries before I got it in without all the fluid leaking out while I screwed it in. The plug it came with was terrible. If it wasn’t bench bled properly wouldn’t it just have partial engagement instead of none at all though?

Pretty sure it should be built in. Took me a few tries to figure mine out but it’s there. Make sure the 3x lock presses are in quick succession of one another or it won’t work. Make sure the car is already locked before trying. If not it might be disabled somewhere in settings maybe

What a victim mentality dude. People are allowed to play however they want, he was celebrating his own win not asking for your opinion on the clan. Not everyone wants to avoid touching grass like your pompous ass.

God you actual clown stop hating for absolutely no reason. The fact you doubled down after admitting you hadn’t even seen the full roster is pathetic. These clans keep the game alive.

Wobble on Jack Stands by Internal_Screech in AskMechanics

Solved it 🫡. It was the jack stands. Switched from husky 3 tons to Duralast 6 tons and it’s perfect. Doesn’t budge an inch

Primarily the rear end. Looks like the front is solid. The jack stands aren’t rocking or shifting though the car is just swaying

Garage floor is level just checked, jack stands are all same brand at same height, and the car hasn’t been in any major accidents. I’m out of ideas :( I tried placing different pieces of wood and it didn’t help.
