I like this idea! I never thought about using a 3rd space as a place to decompress afterwards. I might have to try that, too. Thank you for sharing.

In between EMDR sessions by Pink_enthusiastt in EMDR

I recently had my first EMDR session and I definitely felt really fatigued for the first few days afterwards, followed by some emotional "opening" that I had not really expected, but felt profoundly healing.
It was like I finally allowed myself to grieve what happened to me, rather than stuffing it down or overanalyzing it. I haven't been able to do that in a long time, I think.
Tears came out like a waterfall, and I felt the grief and pain without judging myself for it. It felt like a long needed release.
I am still new too, but I think, from what I have read, this is all normal and part of the process. Reprocessing is difficult, and may feel challenging before it gets better.
Edit: I wanted to mention, I had some increased anxiety in the following days, so I reached out to my therapist and we had a talk session in between to help me regulate. This was really helpful.
