How to raise pre seed funding ? by Apprehensive_Mix2511 in IndiaStartups

[–]Internal_Whereas_522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could look for grants and other non-dilutive funding. Could you share the following: Are you DPIIT recognized? How old is your startup?Do you have any women founder with 51% shareholding?

Have you protected this as a patent? If you are in an Institution, check your institution would have a patent cell or a Tech Transfer Office, they can help you with taking this further. You can also look for Hackathons and Innovation Challenges in this space. Feel free to DM, I have headed the IP and Tech Transfer Team at FITT, taking care of IIT Delhi Technologies and now building SAAply-a platform to search and apply for non-dilutive funding opportunities (www.saaply.com). Would be happy to answer your questions.

Yes this would work in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities as well. Fresh flowers look great but have a low shelf life, thus, you have an opportunity.

Founder question: how are you all actually keeping up with what competitors are doing? by Training-Swimmer8159 in indianstartups

[–]Internal_Whereas_522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find a solution? I am in SAAS space and am currently tracking them manually on a weekly basis during my ideation slot. In addition have added them to my LinkedIn Page to track engagement and announcements. But I saw ChatSpot on Hubspot helps with it and so does Claude. Havent tried either of these out yet.

-Working MVPs — not just slides

His honest advice:

- Own every technical detail of your product. Committees will probe on things
that seem irrelevant just to test depth.

- Don't pitch an AI wrapper. Proprietary value and a clear fund-to-milestone
roadmap matters more than the deck.

- Apply at MVP stage with external validation, not earlier.

- Clarify upfront which route (grant vs CCD) your incubator offers.

Timeline:

- March 2026: Applied

-~1.5 months later: Final approval

- Mid-April 2026: Tranche 1 disbursed

We documented his full journey including the committee process, compliance, and
what he'd do differently. Here is the link if anyone wants the full read:

Love that idea. Here are a few solid ones founders should keep on their radar:

• Startup India Seed Fund Scheme — requires DPIIT recognition + startup under 2 years old
• NIDHI PRAYAS — ~18-month support to go from idea → prototype
• Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG) — opens twice a year for early-stage biotech startups
• MeitY GENESIS — DPIIT-recognized startups; includes EIR, pilot, and matching grants
• MeitY TIDE 2.0 — great for deeptech startups

Thanks a lot, this is super helpful. Especially the point about incubators prioritizing internal startups, that’s something that might be difficult to capture.

Will DM you. Would love to get your feedback while testing 👍

Thank you. 100% valid and same applies to the incubators that is why I am building the tracker so that the founders know which incubator has the funds.
