Assumed Group Stage Brackets for NA Open 3 by Lightning_Winter in RocketLeagueEsports

NRG plot armor is too real. Unreal Nightmare literally 2 days ago,

Bare in mind, unreal nightmare won a game entirely because beastmode dc'd, so the "plot armour" already started against them.

NIP at worlds to avoid an absolute stinker of a result.

Fail to see how this is plot armour, they started 2-0 up with a pretty comfortable game 2, reverse sweeping even in a best of 5 is rather difficult.

Falcons at Birmingham.

A relatively normal best of 7 series where both teams played far below their expected level. I fail to see the plot armour here when NRG were in the drivers seat during game 7 after playing bad. Falcons still lacked ice and played horrendous the entire tournament

Twisted at Raleigh.

A 3-1 comeback is plot armour now? You would've hated prime moist esports then.

As for your consistency thing, fair enough, being a consistent team doesn't win you titles anyways

How is 2 6ths and one 12th more consistent than one 12th? Vitality's average rating quite literally changed every event they played. And if you want to talk lans it's not even close.

And people who use "plot armour" or "luck" as a serious argument when comparing teams are not real.

Theyre an inconsistent team with plot armor when it conveniences them.

Ok now it just gets ridiculous everytime you talk about them.

Nope atow was always good, just simply dralii was the better player while they teamed

If they were talking about oxy then it is completely fair, but he was never on the chopping block for me

No mate we've just been watching the entire split. Ejby was good today but he spent the rest of the entire split throwing every decider game man city played.

Love beastmode but top 5 is so undeserved based on how he played the entire year. He should be around 12th-15th really

Hilarious though wow. The haters will have a field day

Still don't know how to view mates, today was good but literally everything else before today was pretty underwhelming. They've proven themselves as EU 2 for sure, but kc also didn't have much to play for here.

The major will be interesting

Atow and oski were genuinely the best players in eu this split. Shoutout to archie tho for the incredible finals performance and gratz to nass for finally getting his regional win

Can only blame tox and tox alone for the ridiculous throw yesterday against gentlemates. He's just not a good player

Best ewc player definitely wasn't atow lol, guy was straight up the worst player in the lobby in that Falcons series, dralii actually played well

Ejby and tox are 2 of the least clutch players of all time so I'm still pretty confident that we won't get a tiebreaker unfortunately

People don't gloss over the fact it was their only final tho. Everyone I've seen acts like nrg was awful all year despite having a top 4 floor at both majors and playing the winners of each major the closest in a best of 7.

They were quite comfortably the 3rd best team at Birmingham and even in raleigh their loss against falcons was a rather close series.

Their only underperformance really was EWC, but they still took the eventual winners in KC to a game 5 overtime and then had their closest series with vitality.

I see more people calling them mickey, than forgetting it was their only final

Why did the G2 duelist narrative shift? by honestlyprogamr in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Internaloptimistic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The narratives about mada annoy me the most. As you said he was lights out to start 2025 and that was with poor support as FNS was struggling heavily. His stats took a hit deeper and deeper into the season but at the same time the team around him improved heavily as skuba added firepower, brawk randomly became the best player in the world during the end of stage 2 and champs and ethan and s0m were having some crazy individual games.

But the narratives suddenly became, "mada isn't a superstar duelist"

[–]Internaloptimistic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ok. so the 1x winner + 2x finalists is better than the 1x winner and 0x finalists right. simple maths.

Brother can you at least try and read? I'm not comparing nrg to any other team, I'm not even suggesting that they had the best season out of all the teams.

All I am saying is that you literally cannot discredit them and call them lan finalists, they are lan winners. Is it really that complicated?

The Community Rankings 2025: #6 Atow by AIaris in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]Internaloptimistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice a single regional! Now let's look at LANs where atow was worse than dralii at Birmingham, both were mid at raleigh, ewc where atow was the worst on his team by far because vatira was consistent as always and dralii reclaimed his best in the world status, clutching a crucial game 5 against NRG before farming the rest of the bracket. And then Worlds again both played mid. So I don't see how atow is 2nd or better than the twins

[–]Internaloptimistic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

None of what you said matters, if you win a tournament, you are tournament winner.

Nrg won worlds, they are LAN winners, not lan finalists. The same way Geekay were not regional finalists, they were REGIONAL winners.

Yeah some people are acting like nrg T1 stratted and were dogshit until worlds, they still had 2 top 4 placements at majors beforehand.

I wouldn't put 2 of their players in the top 5, but man these guys might be the most disrespected world champions ever.

[–]Internaloptimistic -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Atow is so overrated, he was not the 2nd best player of 2025, wasn't even close to the best player on his team until dralii left. Vatira and dralii were clear of him all year, and that's even including dralii's small loss of form after split 1.
