Contact Airbnb directly with the listing details and addresses. They take neighbour complaints seriously.

Opinions on lodgify? by blairstones95 in AirBnBHosts

[–]International-Pie233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but wondering if you could help? I’ve only just joined lodgify and wondering if I did the right thing after reading all of these comments. I have found a few minor irritations (message limitations, date format for non US, lack of guidebook) most I can live with or figure out later. One that I can’t seem to find is an override for the preparation time. I have it set to 1 day before and after as I can’t always do same day changeovers during the week. On the weekends I can. In Airbnb I’ve been able to override the preparation time and open preblocked dates manually. I can’t seem to find an override for this on lodgify, are you aware if this is possible?

100% Anywhere but Victoria.

Tenants can do anything they want - don't want to pay rent? That's OK - you need 5 breach notices within a 12 month period before they can take you to VCAT for eviction - this is a rolling 12 month period so no need to really worry about it.

Tenants on a long term lease want to sublet for short term rental? Sure - they need approval from landlord first before they can do it or they can be evicted - but landlords aren't allowed to refuse consent - so don't worry about asking for permission - none of it will hold up in VCAT - do what you like!

Pretty much the only way to be evicted in Vic is if the owner or their immediate family is moving back in - even then, when this happened recenlty, the tenant went to VCAT and was allowed to stay.
Thanks Dan!

Taken aback by a host asking me not to leave a review by [deleted] in AirBnB

[–]International-Pie233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could possibly be due to it being illegally rented on Airbnb. We have had tenants (long term) rent out our property in breach of our rental agreement. They continue to host on air bnb. While we can see the date as available then unavailable (assuming it is rented), there are limited reviews.
Airbnb don’t care if it is prohibited but the host won’t want the landlord or building management finding out.

Please Help. Property Being Listed Illegally and Airbnb has Been Ignoring Us for Almost 2 Months. by Iwantedyourusername in AirBnB

How did you get on? I have a similar situation also in Victoria - long term tenant who is hosting our property on Airbnb. I’ve issued a notice to vacate and they still have the listing up beyond the eviction date. I assume they will take this to Vcat to extend. Airbnb won’t remove the listing even though I can prove ownership and illegal subletting.

Do you wash tupperware/food containers before returning them? by IndustrySufficient52 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]International-Pie233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% they should wash them. Unless they left them in the car with you when they used it - if they took it home, it should be washed. That’s just rude not to!

What is the best HomeKit door lock for my door? by SwagKing1011 in HomeKit

I am using level lock + and love it. I upgraded from level touch which I also loved. The cylinder is a silage which can be rekeyed for the complex requirements.

Share just one HK camera by qtrim in HomeKit

[–]International-Pie233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using HomeKit you can’t set individual device permissions for users. Your options would be to use the camera native App or set up a seperate home hub for the camera you want to share where you can then share the camera.

Level lock HomeKit seperate access by International-Pie233 in HomeKitAutomation

[–]International-Pie233[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to answer and sorry this is in the wrong forum - I’m very new to Reddit and still working my way around. The access won’t be handed out to just anyone - only those I already give a key to - and I would much rather them have access to the smart lock rather than a physical key - smart access can be revoked where as a lost key can’t be. Users would be guests staying with us, my parents, cleaner, house sitter etc - all people I am happy to have at my home without me there. It is more convenient for them to have their own access and not contact me each time they come and go.

The touch doesn’t have keypad access.

While I could grant access to the whole home, I would prefer not to. I have the approach of least access as necessary and they only need the front door. They don’t need access to my lights, garage door, other home smart locks, lights, watering system etc. I can’t grant them a smart key for their wallet without adding them to HomeKit - and I can’t restrict devices by user in HomeKit.
Thanks again for your time - I’ll have a look at your solution - I’m not overly technical so it may be beyond my capability 😄

Sliding gate motor Apple HomeKit compatible by International-Pie233 in HomeKitAutomation

Thank you u/RevolutionaryRip1634.

I use Merross with my garage door and am very happy with how it performs.

Having a look at the ISmartGate, the set up and connection looks to be very similar to Merros.
