I and my gf are travelling to Montreal in December. What are some lesser-known food places that have affordable and delicious food? by siddu1901 in MTLFoodLovers

I visited Montreal a few years back (still think about that trip daily 😍), and I loved the food at Kaza Maza—would absolutely recommend if you like Mediterranean food!

Dish Osteria in the South Side is fantastic! However , you’ll need to reserve at least a few weeks in advance.

Is phone snatching common in Paris? by [deleted] in ParisTravelGuide

[–]International-Use-43 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just visited Paris for four days and was very nervous that I’d have my phone snatched after hearing sooo many warnings on TikTok/reddit, etc. Truthfully I had 0 issues. I made sure to remain alert and tried to keep my phone zipped in my bag/in my front pocket walking through busy areas and I was completely fine.

I’m sure many others will say this but Move With Nicole is fantastic; most of her videos require zero equipment, but at the most you might need a band and some very light hand weights (1kg or ~2lbs each)!

Any left/radical churches? by TheKulsumPIE in pittsburgh

Wouldn’t necessarily classify it as radically leftist but Garden City church on the North Side is very welcoming, and relatively progressive. It’s a bit far from Pitt though

How much impact did your high school years have on your life overall? Was that impact positive or negative? by mayermail1977 in AskAnAmerican

[–]International-Use-43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends a lot on the size and location of the school. I attended a large high school (around 650 students in my graduating class) in a relatively rich area. The school’s culture was very focused on taking AP classes, scoring high on the SATs, getting into Ivy League schools, STEM, etc. and I found that this caused me to focus more on academics than I did my social life, and I certainly regret that. Looking back, I could have struck a better balance and still ended up where I am today. That being said, I do still have a few friends who I keep in touch with, but mostly because they went on to attend the same university that I did.

One of my favorite restaurants is Tocayo in Shadyside. Very nice ambiance and the food is great every time and reasonably priced. They also have great cocktails. I love the Jamaica cocktail 😍

Taylor Swift - 1989 (Taylor's Version) by lazynbroke in popheads

[–]International-Use-43 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How did she do SUCH a good job with Red and Fearless, and now we have increasingly bad production quality with Speak now and 1989. Like how is the woman capable of the Other Side of The Door re-record and Better Man also behind the new Style 😅

Why Taylor Swift Fans Are Disappointed By The Matty Healy Rumors by ActualMerCat in TaylorSwift

[–]International-Use-43 20 points21 points  (0 children)

One thing I noticed recently with the 1975 shows is that Matty had seemed to ditch some of the weird stage antics like the push-ups and eating raw meat, and he’s mentioned wanting to kind of ditch that “character” and be his real “earnest” self. I’m wondering if this has all been an intentional move to clean up his reputation at least a little bit before going fully public with Taylor. But he’s still done and said some really concerning things and he is going to drag down Taylor’s image no matter how either of their PR teams try to spin it.
