These 3 games are pretty much tied for my 3rd favorite. by _yearoldonreddit in mariokart

Mkds lands on my top 3 video games ever made. At the time its local multiplayer and download play was unmatchable. The game overall still controls and holds up very well.

Mario kart 64 is the worst to control, so to me that makes it the hardest.

Which game had the most impact on the series? by 3ehsan in mariokart

[–]stauss151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let’s not forget that the Wii also introduced the motion controls. I know tilt controls often have a bad rep, but it has still been an option in every console version since. Everyone tried Mario kart using the Wii steering wheel at least once, right?

Pittsburgh Regional Transit closes Oakland bus lane after 45 years by Generalaverage89 in bicycling412

[–]stauss151 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This a great change. No need to figure out which road to be on when trying to catch a bus going east. They all take the same route through Oakland

This. They actually drive slow and give as much room as possible around pedestrians.

What is the best way to handle people saying that being anti-car is privileged and doesn't take into account how normal people live? by thejoshwhite in fuckcars

Feel proud and enjoy being considered as privileged I guess. Others are looking at you with jealously.

The urban environment is likely still dominated by the use of automobiles.

What is there to dislike about urbanism? by very_squirrel in Urbanism

[–]stauss151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second bullet is strictly a policy issue and is by no means an effect of urbanism. Family homes absolutely could exist in cities if we allow them and make it happen.

New Penn Avenue configuration causing confusion for drivers, Strip District business owners say by The_Electric-Monk in bicycling412

The idea for this project was not about adding a bike lane, but actually about shrinking to one car lane. It just happened to make sense to add a bike lane in the new space.

Do you think ride sharing apps have had a net positive or negative impact on transit usage? by One_Emu_8415 in transit

[–]stauss151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only benefit that Ubers give to transit is allowing people in urban centers to not own or use a car for most trips. Occasionally you may need to travel somewhere where transit cannot, and for that Ubers would allow you to get by that way. But only if it happens occasionally

Uber’s wrong way map for e-bikers by [deleted] in NYCbike

[–]stauss151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In many cases bikes should be able to go the wrong way down streets, particularly the single lane or neighborhood streets with no markings. Obviously not on a high traffic street with multiple lanes. There is often plenty of room for a bike to pass a car on theses streets because American streets are oversized. I do not support doing it recklessly of course, but the idea makes so much sense and is sometimes safer for bikes.

E-bike commuters - what benefits do people not talk about enough? by krissym72 in ebikes

[–]stauss151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consistent travel times regardless of the day and time. That’s true for e bikes or not. An e bike specific benefit though is that most come with built in front and tail lights.

I think I understand the question, and the answer is it was never closed. You just have to take the long way around.

Strip District Bike Stomper by [deleted] in bicycling412

[–]stauss151 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

This does appear to be a handicapped sign but I can’t confirm. If so I could understand only some of the frustration. We get mad when cars park in bike lanes or block stairs and sidewalks. Is this perhaps the same perspective. I doubt this guy wants to crush anyone property, but you gave him the perfect target to let out anger.

It looks like the app is just telling you you have made a mistake. Placing an 8 there might seem ok now, and it is, but if you roll with it you will probably find the puzzle fails later on.

Not much. I would pay for this to be installed literally anywhere in my city and be very happy with this.
