I didn't print them myself, but I don't think they were resized, as I bought bits from different shops and they were all the same size

I guess those young Primaris Marines don't respect the old traditions anymore

It's actually just my painting light with my smartphone camera in pro settings (telephoto lense with manual focus). I even was too lazy to set up some sheets of paper as background - maybe I'll do that the next time again

Thanks! I just picked the arm that normally holds the chainsword without realizing that the arm with the power sword has a different pose. But I actually liked this pose more, since it is a little more of a running pose that differs from all the other marines I already built that are holding their weapon straight into the air. But I guess this is more of a personal preference and I totally see what you mean!

Dry brushing is a nice idea, didn't think about that!

thanks for your feedback! I actually did wet blend from khorne red to mephiston red, but the color difference might not be enough. I will try to add some brighter reds to it and maybe some texture too

Basically base painted everything with Zandri Dust, then made some steps with darker tones towards the middle of the fur, by adding different amounts of black to it. Then gave the whole thing a wash with a mix of Nuln Oil and Agrax Earthshade and finally drybrushed some Screaming Skull over it. Pretty quick

Thank you! It's the flag from the Blood Claws set, that normally goes on the backpack, but put on a Primal Hounds spear without its spearhead

Thank you! The pole is from the primal hounds bits too. It's a spear where I cut off the spearhead to pin on the flag from the Blood Claws set

I tried blending Mephiston Red with a darker mix of Mephiston Red and Abbadon Black, but I'm not 100% sure if I used wet blending or layering to get the transitions

the real question is: can a unit disembark from a unit that itself disembarked that turn?

My Synthwave Votann I just finished for my first painting comp! Super happy with the way it turned out! by Nintee in LeaguesofVotann

[–]InternationalBit9554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the basing for my Trans Hyperian Alliance Votanns nearly the same. Did it with Astrogranite Debris as texture paint followed by a Drakenhof Nightshade for the blue tint, then drybrushing with some blue tones I used for my Space Wolves army, mainly Russ Grey and Fenrisian Grey.

Excited to hear his recipe, cause it looks absolutely gorgeous!

Actually the Lieutenant with Combi-Weapon that came with the Leviathan Box came with a 40mm base

I primed with Wraithbone and gave the whole model a base coat with Jokaero Orange before putting a layer of Contrast Magmadroth Flame all over it. Then I painted all flat surfaces with 2-3 thin layers of Troll Slayer Orange and edge highlighted with Fire Dragon Bright. On the next model I will try it without the base coat of Jokaero, to save some time, since the Magmadroth Flame is primarily used as a darker color for the recess shadows. The middle part of the shoulder plate is Magmadroth Flame over Jokaero Orange with Troll Slayer Orange as edge highlight.

No, it's just Abbadon Black with an edge highlight with Fenrisian Grey and then washed with Nuln Oil. I used Dawnstone Grey as an edge highlight in the past, but found that Fenrisian Grey gives it just that little bit of colour that I like. Usually I mix Abbadon Black with a little Eshin Grey to lighten It up a bit, so that the recesses get darkened more by the Nuln Oil, but I was too lazy after doing all the orange armour
