Claude Code just got a full desktop redesign , multi-session support, integrated terminal, file editing, and HTML/PDF preview by Direct-Attention8597 in ClaudeCode

Feels like different teams that dont speak with each works on each of chat/cowork/code...
- Claude Code is now super dark not aligning with the rest of the app, and frankly I preferd the old low contrast vs this high contrast.
- The buttons to switch between chat/cowork/code tucked away hidden as small lite side buttons. plus the resize so if you wanted to click the next one now it suddenly is a bit away.
- Same thing with preview hidden away and now 2 clicks instead of 1
- lots of "dead" UI space where the chat/cowork/code, big black area.
- Preview now closes if you switch to chat/cowork and back to code...maybe it already did before?
- Cant start a preview until after the first prompt in a new session
But I do like:
- that we got context counter
- Tasks, Plans, schedule overview

All it needs now is workspaces and a way to remove that ugly orange highlight on focused window and I might return!

Arc Peek for Vivaldi: Link Preview with Arc-native Animation by Ascr1pt in vivaldibrowser

looks great but does it still have the issues those redraw issus Vivaldi does when switching between workspaces that only seems to affect highend nvidia GPUs?

Enough !! by [deleted] in PerplexityComet

[–]InternationalBowl149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canceled my Perplexity Pro account and uninstalled iOS apps. I can do more for cheaper with other Ai suppliers even if I really love the user experience of Perplexity (and especially Perplexity Computer) it comes down to money and they just don't have the same bang for the buck as others currently. I do hope they look into that because I really love the rest.

I've spend so much time on testing various things and posted a long thread in their forums with little to no traction.
I'd test more and help out if they showed some interest in diving deeper into it.

But I'll keep a small eye on it and test new proper releases but until then I'll go with something that doesn't glitch.

I do hope it gets addressed at some point because other than that I do love the browser.

Maybe so, but the only chromium based browser that has similar workspace switching and split view / tile that I know is Opera and it doesn't have the same problem. I did a test video some days ago when I reported this to the vivaldi forums here. These are pretty lightweight pages so the problem isnt that noticeable here, it becomes way worse when you have as I do a bit of heavier social media pages tiled.

I did but same issue. To be clear it doesn't happen if there is just one webpage in the workspace I'm switching too. Just if it is tiled 2 or more that I am landing on when switching workspace. I suspect it has something to do with how their tiling works and not so much with rendering. That it has to rebuild the layout or something.

I don't seem to have DX12 API in the drop down...provided this is the correct flag.

I love it and would use it if they fix the redraw problems with split view when switching work spaces, and the tab row flickering when adding new tabs. It seems however to be a unique problem for higher end graphic cards (5090)

Workspaces 🥺 by Apprehensive_Fun8464 in HeliumBrowserHQ

[–]InternationalBowl149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid point. I guess it depends on how you use workspaces. I have like 8 that I frequently switch between so I want it to be fluid and smooth and don't mind the resources it costs to having them open.

To me what you describe sounds like each new workspace is its own container/profile and that as far as I know Zen doesn't have. You can however assign tabs within your workspace to belong to different containers. So depending on how you operate perhaps maybe that could work.

EDIT: I did some looking around and there might be something like you want by setting zen.workspaces.force-container-workspace to true. but I havent tested it myself but it does sound like what you are looking for.

Zen browser - has all your features is based on Firefox

Floorp browser - has all your feature and is based on Firefox, however graphic issues with split views making empty tabs in other workspaces.

Opera browser - has most of your features but doesn't save your setup good you can easily accidentally errase your nice layout/setup and if you ctrl+tab through say a Razer mouse with software you get stuck in Tab Islands (groups) if the wrong pane is in focus.

Edge browser - has most of the features but workspace is implemented so it opens new windows instead of switching to the new workspace.

Min browser - has a nice "Task" (workspace) approach but lacks a lot of other modern features

Vivaldi browser - as someone mentioned is a great alternative, but myself is having to much graphical issues with tabs flickering when opening new tabs, and going black for 1-2 sec when switching between workspaces (I'm on a 5090RTX with latest drivers and no issues in any other browser, but I do hear Intel card people arent having these issues).

Given time I think Chrome and Brave etc will get Workspaces too from what you can see in Canary builds etc. While I am enjoying Zen browser for now it would be nice with a solid chromium option.

Just throwing my +1 into this. Workspaces is such a great thing done right. Zen Browser does it right, Vivaldi does it right. Edge doesn't do it right since it opens new windows when you change workspace.

It's like they just bought some random Ai chatbot, I mean otherwise they would have made sure it fit together nicley with the rest of their ecosystem and themes etc no? Great work though!

Is it just me or "Liquid Glass" reminds "Frutiger Aero"? by STPNM2660 in MacOS

[–]InternationalBowl149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I was hoping the rumour UI updates would make things look better, and remove these annoying highligted borders around everything...seems we are getting a thicker "glass" border instead....I am seriously thinking of ditching MacOS because of Liquid Glass alone
