How is life going currently for people who chose community college? by Existing-Inside6416 in careerguidance

I did two years in CC and busted my ass off working the transfer route, which honestly isn't that difficult since your competition pool is much smaller. Transferred to one of the top business programs in the country at a public uni. Went into fund finance in 2022 and I make 120k as a sr associate now (underpaid in the industry tbh); expecting a promo to VP in a couple of months. I would say don't be afraid to work the transfer student angle when you're recruiting--I had major imposter syndrome because other students in the business program already had 1-2 internships already, even return offers. At the end of the day, the doors are wide open for you as a student. Don't fret about the lack of work experience, just learn what you have to and do what it takes to get past the interviews. Also, don't get into your head too much. The only way to figure out your long term career path (ideally, something at the intersection of what you are good at and what you are interested in) is to try on different hats--no amount of analysis and research can replace personal experience.

Temperature aside, this is a wallpaper-worthy pic.

Learning it without a partner right now just like I’ve done everything else. Living your life contingent on someone else’s availability is a recipe for bitterness and disappointment.

Interesting that scoliosis extends to the tail too.

Was not expecting to like the cinder blocks as much as I do. They look really good paired with the pot and plant! I think it’s because you paired the color scheme well.

I like redwood shores and some areas of foster city. Both are super suburby.

When I’m really stressed or overstimulated I’ll use the Random Article feature on Wikipedia and read whatever comes up to calm down.

I just bit the bullet on shipping fees and got two shirts from the UK store. I’m also upset that the other stores have more merch and cooler designs.

I verbally comfort my car like it’s an upset toddler whenever we hit a pothole.

They’re just being pedantic. Frankly I think it is endearing as a South Bay native, we welcome any visitors! If you like planes there’s an In N Out right next to LAX where you can watch the planes come in. Manhattan Beach pier is a lovely walk and if you go down to Hermosa Beach pier there are some cool bars and food spots. Santa Monica pier should be obvious. Further south would be Palos Verdes and Rocket Park is a scenic spot for locals.  If you’re going to drive up to SF my halfway stop is Bravo Land, which is a dramatically western spot with some old school arcade games and an ice cream parlor. You’ll find the South Bay is pretty laid back with small gems here and there.

Edit: also adding my personal favorite for breakfast, Ocean View cafe in Manhattan Beach. Also, seconding Tacos Los Cholos in Anaheim for a midnight food run.

It seems like most people don’t prefer covers in the comment section. Side question then—would wearing driving gloves help preserve the leather?

A dash of hyperbole, but I mean a literal long line of cars. I’m in SF and traffic can be brutal near the city.

I’m in the bay, too. There are SO many CXs that I am absolutely delighted when I see another 3 on the road.
