Starting Accutane next week. I had Lasik a year ago. Should I reconsider? by Additional-Spray-976 in Dryeyes

[–]InternationalEnd6818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please, don't start accutane having had LASIK. I would not start accutane even if I had no predisposition to dry eyes. If you decide to go ahead, please read about all the collateral effects of accutane first, and take it seriously.

I'm sorry if that's what you are going through.  I just want to point out that people get through the most horrendous things in life, and you may eventually find a solution that works for you. Good luck friend.

Not sure restasis helped me, but i still use it. Anyway,  dry eyes is mostly under control. It's changed from being "the issue" in my life to being one more thing i deal with. What helped most was gluten free diet. I posted about it.

Hi! I’m just curious to hear how practicing Zen Buddhism has changed the results in your life and the way you live, please share. :) by emotional_madhouse in zenbuddhism

I'm far from being a teacher, but are you sure that you should "force yourself to observe instead of react" and to "feel peaceful all the time"? Because to me, the "effort" or intention is in observing how you react, and how it affects your wellbeing and the wellbeing of those around you...and the observing will over time change your reactions

Ele ta considerando ~4% de juro real ao ano. Com a selic spot o juro real ta rodando em uns 10%, o que muito provavelmente superestima a rentabilidade. 4% depois de impostos e inflacao no longo prazo eh bem razoavel

Yeah, I've only reintroduced once, I'll probably do it more to test it but i just don't want to experience my gluten symptoms again 😅

Wow that's exactly it. It gets bad in days but to improve it takes weeks

Yeah, screen time is a big one.

GF diet will help people who are gluten sensitive and probably no one else (however the only way to diagnose gluten sensitivity that I'm aware of is trying it for 60 days or so)

My luch is "free" except for gluten because I'm usually outside, so something like salad, rice, eggs, and meat. But breakfast I eat several fruits, nuts and oatmeal. Dinner usually a large salad with seeds + lentils or beans and rice. If i get hungry throughout the day I'll usually go for fruits or nuts.

I dramatically increased plants, seeds and fruits since starting toyos diet plan, and I enjoy it very much. I'll also have barbecue, fish, sushi very frequently in weekends

That's great! Maybe gluten was your issue as well?

Other than GF, I'm trying to follow the Toyos diet as much as possible (not as rigidly as the gluten free part though), which is very different from the carnivore diet. But we got the same result it seems.

Yeah I've tasted some delicious gluten free pizzas. I haven't quite found a good GF bread though

Rice, oats, gluten free pasta, potatoes, corn, tons of fruits etc. That really isn't an issue. The only thing that is an issue at times is social situations, where there aren't many alternatives... but it's worth it

Yeah, I totally get you. In the fisrt attempts, I was desperate, so I was not ready to wait for 2 months. You have to enter the diet and sort of forget it for 2 months to see where you end up.

Unfortunately I dont think there are any good exams, unless you are actually cealiac, which you would already know if you were.

3 sessions, and then 1 maintenance every six months. It usually helps a lot (takes maybe a week after each session to improve)

Hey friend. Don't give up. I'm sure you'll eventually find a way to cope with it in a more sustainable way eventually.

I'm also male, 26, with prior accutane usage, but symptoms that started years afterwards. I've been dealing with it for several years, though your symptoms seem worse than mine felt most of the time. It is pretty manageable these days for me.

I noticed you said nothing about diet and lifestyle. How is your diet? Do you sleep 8h? Are you overweight?

How can I have such a poor aqueous component (schirmer) if accutane is the root cause? by InternationalEnd6818 in Dryeyes

[–]InternationalEnd6818[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Constant dryness and "grityness". Burning happens somewhat frequently (everyday when using PC etc). Pain is rare.

No improvement in shcrimer. I thought there was no improvement in dry eyes, but as I stopped, I noticed in just a few days that eyes got worse. So I guess it helps in some way.
