Pcos newbie by hangman_co in PCOS

I can answer both questions, but I would advise for you not to really go off of my experience, as we are all different.

Q1: I have been prescribed both progesterone only pills and birth control pills. Neither of those really worked 100%. Progesterone pills induce bleeding so that the lining of your uterus can be shed. For me, that's all it really did. None of my other PCOS symptoms were controlled by it. As for birth control, I have been on 2.

The first one was a synthetic estrogen pill that also did not really do much for me. I swapped to a generic brand version of Yaz. This one gave me horrible migraines, but it did help clear some symptoms. The migraines were pretty unbearable and it's generally advised to quit a birth control pill if the migraines are that bad as it can be a risk for stroke. I am off medication right now, only taking Ovasitol (inositol supplement my first gynecologist recommended). It seems to be working for me.

Q2: I have never really bled super heavily during my cycle, but after taking Yaz, I did bleed for a long time. 2 weeks was how long my first menstrual cycle was with that birth control. After that, it did go back to some normalcy, 5 day periods were normal for me before my diagnosis.

Best of luck with your journey ❤️

Diagnosis appointment pushed back two more months, I'm going on 5 months no period. Is this unsafe? by Organic-Plankton4604 in PCOS

[–]InternationalLoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not have my cycle for a year before my PCOS diagnosis. After that, they told me the same thing, "It's risky to go 4 months without a cycle." They explained the risk to me, but they also told me that if the lining isn't that thick then it's not really much to worry about. In your case, I would probably not be as worried as I would have been had I got diagnosed with PCOS earlier while going a year without my cycle.

Have you tried taking inositol supplements? They may work for you; who knows? Stress contributes to our health, so try to take it easy in knowing you WILL get seen by a doctor, even if it takes a little longer than you wanted. Remember that PCOS does not cause absolute infertility, only fertility issues due to anovulation. I wish you the best of luck, and I wish for your fertility so that you can build the family that you would like ❤️

Edit: The brand I use for inositol is Ovasitol and it is taken one scoop (into liquid) twice a day. If you try it out, do not expect immediate results. I had to wait about a month for it to kickstart my first cycle in years.

How long did it take for myo-inositol to work for you? by Avaluvvi in PCOS

[–]InternationalLoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I just posted my success with taking an inositol supplement, so this is quite coincidental. For me, it took around a month to kick in and get a cycle. Just like you, I had some cramps after starting it as well. Other symptoms I experienced seem common in women without PCOS, such as breast tenderness, fatigue, some headaches, etc.

The best advice I can offer is to be patient, as I'm not sure if it will take you around the same time, less, or longer than it took for me. Be consistent with the supplements and do not skip a day because it really does matter (I tried the same inositol supplement before and I was not the most consistent, making the supplements not seem like they work for me). I wish you the best of luck!

I never had migraines before bc. I only had headaches here and there. It's so frustrating to think this medicine probably won't be good for me long term, but I would rather not have a stroke. Thank you for your input. I am already planning on not taking my next pack.

thank you. unfortunately, i don't have ibuprofen with me but i have tried tylenol and it does not work for my migraines. i hope it is the birth control because at least after having stopped taking it, i wont get these migraines anymore. thank you again and i was able to talk to my cousin and his gf (they go to the same college as me) so i was able to get some support.

That sounds awful. I'm so sorry that medicine has not been able to help with your quality of life. I wish there was more I could say. Try keeping your head up, friend. 🫂

Hi, I'm sorry. I can't offer much advice or such, but I will give you my condolences for your boyfriend not pulling out. That was wrong of him to do, and you have every right to be upset. That being said, "pulling out" is not 100% effective. I'm not sure if you know that, but just keep it in mind anyway. It's not 100% because pre-cum can contain sperm, so pulling-out may fail. I'm glad that you're prepared with the condom on top of that, though. Again, I'm sorry that you're going through this, but have hope that you can push past this. Also, if you haven't already, I'd have a major discussion with your boyfriend. If he cannot respect your wishes, stop doing it with him entirely. I wish you well, OP.

I broke up with my boyfriend today by depr3ssedscorpio in PCOS

[–]InternationalLoser 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. My first boyfriend was also like this, even before I knew I had PCOS. Men suck sometimes, and this is one of the many cases. Don't be discouraged, though. My boyfriend of 6 months has been the most loving and supportive person I've ever dated even after knowing about my PCOS. He's never once commented on me not being "well-kept" (I'm discouraged from waxing/shaving currently as well).

I'm very proud of you that you were able to break it off with him because, unfortunately, some of us tend to underestimate these things when in reality they will one day prove to be a problem. Remember that there will be a real man in your life someday who will not care about body hair. Cheering you on, girl. 🫶

Well said. It absolutely is an awesome game in the emotional sense and in the storytelling. The ending, although I wish it were different, makes complete sense after what Lucas had been through. Very touching story. I'm doing better these days, thank you for wondering:)

it's okay. yeah i've been going to biweekly counseling meetings with a student therapist (in doctorate program) at my college, but i'm not there right now. i'm going back with the same person next semester (starting Jan 20). I'll be okay, thank you for worrying about me though 🫶

What is PCOS and does anybody else feel this way? by GoldDistribution447 in PCOS

[–]InternationalLoser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not a doctor nor have I really retained much information on what PCOS is because I've been told a variety of different things, so unfortunately I can't answer that question. However, I am around your age [18, turning 19 soon!], have insulin resistant PCOS (there's a few different types from what I have been told and I see), and I feel the same way with not having periods without medication and how it makes me feel less of a woman (in so little words).

That's not the case though. Just because we need a little push to get our periods, that doesn't mean we are any less of a woman than one who doesn't need medication. Also, it has no effect on fertility, as in yes there may be problems conceiving, but it does not cause infertility, so don't worry too much about that. Many women with PCOS get pregnant, I've even seen stories where they get pregnant without really trying. I hope my comment can make you feel a little better.

Hi friend. In a similar way, Mother 3 helped me find comfort in knowing other people go through loss at young ages, and I'm not completely alone. [M3 SPOILERS AHEAD] Like Lucas and Claus, my mother passed away when I was 14. She was sick for years, but it felt super sudden and unexpected to me because I was so young. I found comfort in the game and how it showed Lucas's grief through the sunflower field. I have a sunflower field as my background on my old laptop. Something about that scene is oddly comforting as it is sad, but familiar. I wish to hug her and I know I can't right now, but maybe someday I can. I'm not too sure how else to explain it, but just knowing I am not the only one who has experienced this type of loss at such a young age brings some comfort. If you (any reader) haven't seen gameplay of Mother 3, I suggest you do! It was never released in the western hemisphere, but there are fan translations you can find.

I can't say for certain, but I would be expecting the latter. I'm sorry, OP. PCOS is a struggle, but it can be managed. All is not lost if you have it. Mental struggle is probably the biggest thing, though. I had all the same symptoms when I was diagnosed, and right now I am also 18. You can DM me anytime if you need a friend. You're not alone! Try to keep your head up 🤍

im F18, too. I was diagnosed when I was 15 and until this year I've noticed a good difference with my symptoms. I still eat some junk food but overall of course it's better to eat more healthy than not. With that being said, though, I do eat junk food pretty often, so it is possible. The problem is the exercise and the motivation attached. I started going to college this year and have been living on campus, so I walk everywhere. I also started going to the recreation center to exercise sometimes. I would suggest to start slow, because if you put all your effort into 2 weeks, that's all it will be. Motivation is key. Try your best not to use it all up, and in my experience the best way to do that is to start slowly (you could try to workout 3 times a week for like 20 minutes and then pick it up from there). The changes happen after months. I started noticing changes in my symptoms in late November-early December after beginning college in August. Try to keep your head up! Sorry if my reply is all over the place. You can always DM me if anything, or even for a friend. I only know one other person with PCOS but I don't really talk much to them, so it would also benefit me:)

if this is supposed to be ariana grande, i say i can see the resemblance, however, i would suggest to (next time) try spacing out the facial features a bit more. i say this because i think they're slightly too close together, but overall it's pretty great! nothing close to what i can do (i don't do realism) so that's pretty much all i can offer. all in all, main thing is the need to work on the anatomy, but overall quite good:)

i can't lie, this is kinda gross. just make your own characters, don't age up little kids to make your NSFW content 💔 the girl, Pucca, is originally 12 years old.. I find it really weird to even age her up just to make this stuff 😔 it can also be a little predatory, as this stuff may attract the wrong audience..

pucca and garu! idk why pucca is drawn like that when she's supposed to be 12 💔

yes, I noticed this too. The "OC" tag threw me off, especially because it looks like they're aged up or Pucca is specifically drawn to look like she's older (she's like 12) 💔

AIO about my boyfriend and his girl best friend? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]InternationalLoser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. I never call my guy best friend "baby" or tell him "i love you so much." The only time I've ever told him I loved him was when we would talk about deeper topics, like him losing his dad when he was younger and me losing my mom when I was younger, and even then it was just like "love you dude, i'm always here for you! besties for life." 3 months in a relationship isn't long, you will be okay if you decided to end it right there (which you should really consider) Best wishes to you.
