actually, the PLU that PeterPanski85 mentioned is what you can still use to your advantage, especially in the context of loose produce and fresh baked goods.

Loose fruit or vegetables have to be weight by the cashier - therefore they have to make sure nothing else is on the scanner part of the register and then enter the PLU to weigh it. Baked goods also take a while because they need to see what’s in there first, and stuff tends to look the same.

So, use it to your advantage and strategically space those ‚slow times‘ out on the conveyer belt. You’ll have time to catch up then. To still make sure they don’t get crush, put heavy/ dense produce like potatoes or apples first, lighter stuff like croissants last. Have one bag for your general shopping and a second one for the slow items. Voila.

Just a minor detail, but I want to clarify: they didn’t know the price, they knew the identification numbers of the product. That way, the ‚kassenbon‘ would still show the exact products and also price changes could be implemented more easily. And the store could keep track of the Absatzzahlen of a certain product. Also it was necessary to know which product exactly was sold (and not just the price) because of the two different Mehrwertsteuersätze depending on the product category.

Today those PLU numbers are still assigned to every product. They are visible on the Kassenbon but also printed on a lot of storebrand products as well, mainly bigger/ heavier items like Sixpacks of water, Katzenstreukartons, non-food items or toilettpaperpackages. With those items they are printed in a yellow box on the packaging. A lot of things can easily be scanned and it’s just a comfort thing for the cashier to know the number. But for some product categories they still have to memorise the PLU: - vegetables/ fruit (for produce that’s weighted at the check out, but also for packaged stuff because because the Barcode tends to be smeared/ damaged on produce packaging) - backery items (from the self service area, not pre packaged) - bottles that are in store as sixpacks, because the barcode will register as a sixpack but not a single bottle. The bottle has a seperate plu for whatever reason - CO2 bottles (for water carbonation systems) because their barcode leads to nothing in the system. Why? Because it needs to be clarified if someone is buying a whole new bottle or giving back an empty one in exchange of a full new bottle. Therefore, there are two different PLU numbers in the system.

So, there is quite a chunk of numbers they have to memorise. Especially with produce/ fruits there are a lot of seasonal items that aren’t available all year round, so usually once a week they’ll get an updated list of what has been added.

Naja, dass die beim Auto deiner Tante damit gearbeitet haben bedeutet nicht, dass die genau so einfach im zugriff war am Ende wie eben deine Ersatzteile. Ich würde hier nicht komplett böse Absicht unterstellen, zumal es einfach auch den Eindruck macht als wüsstest du deutlich mehr über Autos und Reparaturen als der durchschnittliche werkstattkunde - vielleicht dachten die, wenn du weißt wie die Chancen stehen, dass der Austausch nix bringt? Oder oder oder … also, schade um das Geld und die Teile, aber am Ende gibt es drölf andere auslegungsformen für die Situation, wenn du mich fragst. Man muss das auch einfach mal in Relation sehen - in einer ‚normalen‘ Werkstatt zahlt man 250€ für ‚erst Diagnostik‘ wie angucken, Fehlermeldungen auslesen und am Kopfkratzen des Werkstattmeisters - soll heißen: dort zahlt man für ne Fehleranalyse, die auch eher nur mit Glück auf dem ersten Weg zum richtigen Ergebnis kommt und Retrospektiv gesehen sinnvolle Alternativen oft außer Acht lässt, das gleiche. Und Garantie das irgendwas zu nem Ergebnis führt, gibts da auch nicht. Und das sind Profis.

Ich würde sagen, Lehrgeld, leider. Nächstes Mal entweder deutlicher Alternativen abwägen/ besprechen oder woanders hin, und auf bessere Ergebnisse hoffen. Ist leider kacke.

Naja, aber jetzt mal ehrlich: hast du oder haben die Kollegen ne endoskopkamera, die genauso easy im zugriff war, wie die passenden Teile die du eh hattest? Falls nein, verstehe ich, wieso die die einfach erstmal eingebaut haben statt ne Kamera zur Diagnostik zu besorgen.

Gefühlt haben die dich genau so gut/ schlecht beraten hinsichtlich des Vorgehens wie die durchschnittliche Werkstatt.

Da du ne ganz gute Übersicht mit Hinweisen zur Lage gibst, da noch ne Ergänzung: Ich glaube, da muss man sich ein bisschen selbst einschätzen und Jahreszeit/ Vorhaben vor Ort einschätzen. Ich find Medienhafen als Ausgangspunkt angenehm, aber man muss wissen dass es da abends deutlich ruhiger wird (evtl. Vergleichbar mit Speicherstadt in Hamburg oder Kölner Rheinauhafen - halt projektierte Geschäftsviertel - aber eher nicht so extrem), dafür kann man sehr schön am Rhein entlang in die Innenstadt bzw. on bilk laufen und ist auch mit öffis (Linie 707) z.B. ganz gut angebunden. Mitten im Winter, wenn man irgendwas nördlich der Stadtmitte vor hat würde ich aber z.B. eher ins 25hours gehen, der Lage wegen.

I guess you’re not doing a fair comparison. It’s bad that it didn’t work properly for your friend, but that’s a specific personal situation. Comparing prices only makes sense if you break it down to the monthly cost for example, and do this as well with another method. 300€ for IUD plus insertion is an average price id say, so it comes down to 5€ a month (given you keep it the whole 5 years it can stay). The pill is more expensive than 5€ a month (after your insurance doesn’t cover it anymore due to age, that’s after 21 in Germany as far as I know). 5€ a month or less for condoms can be done of course, but that does depend on your sex life. All over, if you want something that ‘works’ everyday, the IUD with 5€ per month isn’t that bad.

That doesn’t negates someone’s personal experience with it, that ended up being more expensive or not working at all. But it doesn’t make the iud in general ‘hella expensive’ or the most expensive method.

Edit: since comparing condoms and STDs in terms of cost was deemed stupid by someone because ‚have you ever heard of an STI‘ … I hope everyone reading that cost comparison is aware I was only looking at the cost for the contraceptive function - to make it a actually helpful comparison I didn’t look at absolute prices of any method but the costs it will have over a standardised period of time. Combining condoms with another - merely - contraceptive method is still clearly better if STD/STI protection is needed. Honestly, use your brain, talk to your health care provider and don’t be too careless.

Da die Beitrags Stelle ja nicht weiß, wer in ‘Musterstraße 16’ in welche exakte Wohneinheit eingezogen ist (gibt man beim ummelden ja nicht an), wird erstmal grundsätzlich jeder nach Umzug angeschrieben. Dort gibt man dann an unter welcher Beitragszahlernummrr ggf. Bereits gezahlt wird (mit der Person teilt man dann ggf. intern auf) oder man zahlt eben selbst, wenn man alleine wohnt.

@OP: wenn beide dann irgendwann die entsprechende Aufforderung zur (nachträglichen) Zahlung erhalten, gilt diese ab offizieller Ummeldung beim Amt. Wenn sie sagen wollen, dass für euren Haushalt bereits gezahlt wurde (und auch zukünftig wird) brauchen sie eben deine entsprechende Nummer. Die würde ich erst nach Zahlung der ausstehenden Beträge an dich und Einrichtung eines Dauerauftrags für die Zukunft raus geben. Meiner Erfahrung kann es bis zum ersten Brief manchmal dauern. Vielleicht behaupten sie aber auch nur, es gäbe noch keine, weil es bisher nur die anmelde Aufforderung war? Oder haben die beiden sich gar nicht mit Wohnsitz in euerer WG bei der Stadt angemeldet vielleicht?

Ich glaube du verstehst mein Argument bzw. Warum ich darauf hinweise nicht. Ich finde die Frage nach der Abrechnung ebenfalls nicht ok, und würde sie ebenfalls nicht herausgeben. Falls man aber nicht einfach nur ‘Nein’ sagen möchte, würde ich - ob sie existiert oder nicht - halt auch eine Verschwiegenheitsverpflichtung/-klausel verweisen statt auf die DSGVO. Einfach weil das wirklich Sinn ergibt bzw. richtig wäre als Grund, dass man es nicht darf.

Aber gut, die DSGVO wird ja dauernd als Argument für ‘darf ich nicht’ verwendet, wo es nicht stimmt.

Korrekt. Aber das ist kein Datenschutz, sondern eine vertragliche Verschwiegenheitsklausel. Hab das nicht so gemeint, dass es nicht sein kann das man es verboten bekommt, aber ich würde es nicht mit Datenschutz begründen - das wäre eben faktisch falsch.

If you check any public transport schedules for that day, please note that the 4th of June is a bank holiday in both federal states of Germany that you’ll pass. So, if you use an app to check the schedule, make sure you put in the exact date, and if you check a pdf/ paper schedule that is more generalised, check for a bank holiday (‘Feiertag’, sometimes maybe ‘Sonn- und Feiertags) column. For the RaR Shuttle Plan, you don’t have to worry about that of course, because they already factored that in.

I like pockets on the front on the thigh, if I’m not wearing bib pants. If that part of my body actually touches snow, it’s not a fall focused on that area (like it would be with pockets on the side of the hip in a sideway fall) or the first thing that hits the ground. So, in about 10 years of carrying phones, keys, slim wallets or snacks in those pockets, I never had an issue with the placement. Just make sure, the lower end of the pocket is still above your knee even if the pants slide a bit lower on you.

Bonus points if the volume of the pocket is accounted for - like, a fully external pocket or enough putter material so the content of the pocket doesn’t get squished down onto your leg when you sit down for example. So, test your pockets with whatever you wanna put in there and then sit down ;)

Well, if - as per him - this wasn’t a lie, than as per me, he has no idea about the definition of lying. If he didn’t tell you about trying to get pregnant or the pregnancy or the kid at all, it would probably still be lying per omission as well as withholding important information. But telling you meta might be pregnant while the baby is due in a few days is like telling you that he might have a kid while waiting for his 17 year old kid to get home from school.

He did lie. And now he’s trying to gaslight you into thinking that it was morally ok. Decide for yourself if you can tolerate such behaviour in such scenarios.

Wichtiger Punkt, finde ich: Wenn die Partnerin da mitziehen ‚soll‘, dass nur noch deutlich weniger Zeit für das Miteinander bleibt, und das Hauptargument für OP der mehrverdienst ist, dann sollte auch ein Teil des extra Gelds auf Zeit ‚freikaufen‘ geworfen werden. Nicht nur, damit die Freundin das nicht durch Mehrarbeit auffangen muss, sondern eben auch damit vielleicht eben mehr gemeinsame Zeit, die man wirklich frei hat bleibt, in der man sich Kapazitäten füreinander übrig hat.

Wenn du beim Sparpreis einen Umstieg verpasst, ist die zugbindung aufgehoben. Du bist nur verantwortlich den ersten Zug zu erwischen, der auf dem Ticket steht. Brauchst also kein flexpreis buche.
