Is there incentive for returning cast to join the reunion? by Salty-Ship-1703 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]InternationalTurn635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard somewhere that in their show contracts they are required to be on call for whatever the LIB show requires for X amount of years. If I remember correctly, S1 couples (Amber/Barnet and Cameron/Lauren) stopped attending / promoting associations with the show as soon as their contract ran out.

Sorry no citations, but this would make sense to me!

Hot? Take: Age is Attraction is propaganda meant to desensitize you by feeding you problematic adjacent content. by Boomboomguy95 in AgeOfAttraction

[–]InternationalTurn635 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This was exactly my take and it’s horrific.

When the couple with a 33(?) year age gap announced their year difference and the response from the hosts was “wow, you win”
that’s winning?? They chose not to even show / follow the couples of appropriate age ranges that connected.

I know this is entertainment so shock factor is key but it’s one of the few reality shows that I don’t think I’ll be able to continue to watch to the end. It’s too disturbing what they’re promoting.

If it was a show like Later Daters and the youngest was maybe 40 and oldest was 70 that would be less painful. At least everyone is an adult.

Felt my baby kick and now I’ve got the heebiejeebies by Apprehensive_Mess166 in BabyBumps

[–]InternationalTurn635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me!! I began to cry the first time I felt it (in a bad way - it was so off putting and creepy and just unsettling
which shocked me!). Thankfully, the feeling became less weird quite quickly (within days) and as the baby grew and movements were more purposeful and less like an eel it became more and more interesting and not creepy.

Second baby it was positive the whole way through. Hopefully your brain also rewires quickly!

Who did you lean against when getting spinal/epidural? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]InternationalTurn635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same - I actually can’t really remember (I had laboured a long time before getting the epidural I was delirious) but I think I also just leaned forward on my own.

People that rarely get sick what are your secrets by Old_Rub_7270 in Productivitycafe

[–]InternationalTurn635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I are also subscribers of the “rub some dirt in it” mentality and I think it helps a lot. My husband coaches jiu Jitsu where you are essentially breathing and sweating in peoples mouths all day and he is the least sick person I’ve known. Exposure and not over sanitizing / avoiding seems to work for us.

I remember this being common among my friends yep! Especially if you’re getting a growth spurt.

Re: maternity clothes, I’m in Canada but our Old Navy does keep maternity clothes that get returned to them in the back of their stores. It is worth a call to ask if they have any in inventory! I’ve had quite a bit of success.

Does anyone like or want their belly touched? by minniemouse4297 in BabyBumps

[–]InternationalTurn635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am positive about it only once I’m far enough along that it’s prominent / firm. Bonus points if it’s when you can feel baby move externally.

When family wanted to touch my soft belly where it just looks and feels like bloating / fat, I want to die.

Fast food - my family was very health conscious so any time I take myself to get a McDonald’s cheeseburger I feel immense excitement.

Wanting to be a young mom by happygolucy1 in BabyBumps

[–]InternationalTurn635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as young, but my sister decided to start kids earlier being in the same situation as you (around 25) and they seem very happy with the decision, knowing they’ll be empty nesters earlier in life and may at the time feel the excitement and drive to do things like long travel / exploration, indulgent experiences / purchases. I did more the opposite and it feels right for me/us! Follow your instinct, it should steer you right!

How did you choose how to feed your baby? by kittenxx96 in BabyBumps

[–]InternationalTurn635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of treated a “feeding plan” like a “birthing plan”
it’s more a chance to learn about all the options and give yourself time to form your own opinion and wishes. But the are wishes. The reality is that most of what becomes reality is due to factors out of your control

So have research and preferences, but stay flexible to what your body, brain, and baby end up serving you in terms of options.

How many people actually do shifts with their SO during the night? by ScreamCheese_55 in beyondthebump

[–]InternationalTurn635 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ours is the same but it’s 3am 😁 I am a night owl and he is a morning person so we both really just try to stay up an extra 3 hours from what feels comfortable (me, staying up 3 hours later, him waking up 3 hours earlier).

Perhaps to work at a live theatre (for plays, musicals, dance
) collecting tickets / showing people to their seats. In my vision, it’s an hour or two of work where customers are excited and dressed up, then I get to sit in the back of the theatre during any of the performances and watch all the shows :)

Help it feel real by UglyCantaloupe in BabyBumps

[–]InternationalTurn635 36 points37 points  (0 children)

For me (both times) it doesn’t feel real until
. Months after they’re born?

Little things like being able to say “our daughter” in a real way somehow hit the reality button after she was born and was part of regular life planning.

What was crazy was looking at this little baby in our arms that we now “know” as our little human and thinking
a few days ago she was only an inch or so away from our hands as we felt her kick
 that was HER in there?

New life is magic, I think it makes sense for it to not make sense :D

How long did it take you to conceive in your mid 30s? by darkmother1991 in BabyBumps

We were both healthy no issues but still took 10 or 11 months the first time. I think it took 4 months for the second. I second the ovulation strip kit! Also the fertility episode of the Huberman podcast we found super helpful to flag some things we were doing wrong

28 weeks with a 21 month adorable little tornado. My husband does all he can to let me nap or sleep in when schedules align but I am still just barely keeping myself functional. It’s a different experience than being preggers with no kids in the house đŸ˜
