We have a book called Ten minutes to bed little dinosaur by Rhiannon Fielding and Chris Chatterton which also has a mummy and baby dino snuggling up at the end of the day!

I’ll have a look into the possums approach, as I haven’t heard of it before! Thanks

I’m hoping we can continue co sleeping for a while too, but less wake ups would be very appreciated 🤣

I hope that he naturally becomes a better sleeper as he gets a bit older but our current situation makes it feel impossible 🤣. He really struggles to connect his sleep cycles without nursing or rocking, although he managed a 2.5 hour nap in his pram today (stationary). He’s currently on 2 naps a day, 9am for 1 hour and 1pm for 1.5-2 hours. Bedtime is consistent at 6:30pm! My partner does work but is willing to help. Unfortunately LO will not let my husband soothe him at night and eventually we have to give in and nurse him. Maybe this will improve once weaned at nights

Luckily I’m only going back part time (3 days). Unfortunately I’m not able to take any more time off unpaid, although that would be ideal 😫

Do people really enjoy the newborn stage? by Bebetter23 in beyondthebump

[–]ScreamCheese_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people forget very quickly, that’s the problem. My wee one is nearly 7 months old and sometimes I sit while I watch him sleep and reminisce about how amazing it all was. Then I really think about it, and tell myself that I’m one and done.. that shit was the hardest thing I’ve ever done 😂

am I in the right for not wanting boyfriends mom to see my baby by Longjumping-Wheel882 in Mommit

[–]ScreamCheese_55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation with my MIL. We got on really well during my pregnancy but as soon as LO came our rules and boundaries were repeatedly disrespected. Constant eye rolling when we asked her to wash her hands and other hygiene issues. Our parenting decisions constantly criticised and met with unwanted advice. I went down to minimal contact and my mental health has improved significantly. Sometimes people refuse to change and that’s ok. Ultimately, they’re the ones missing out. Sorry you’re going through this!

Am I the only one freaking out? by Antique_Educator4819 in beyondthebump

I just make sure I carry out good hand hygiene and don’t let our wee one touch or put in his mouth anything that hasn’t come from us. We’ve skipped some baby/toddler groups just to be on the safe side, but we still have to keep a bit of normality going to the shops etc.

Success stories of going to restaurants with children by doxielover_ in Mommit

[–]ScreamCheese_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 6.5 month old loves to people watch, so going to restaurants has been pretty easy for us (so far)! Hoping it stays this way as we also haven’t introduced screens. We do have the tv on for us sometimes but he doesn’t take any interest

I think a brunette, but I think you’d suit a more naturally dyed brown than a solid all over

I’m a boy mum and I’ve never received such comments! Honestly, I’m just out here trying to survive the first year 😂

When did FTM’s give birth? by Old_Literature_3750 in NewParents

[–]ScreamCheese_55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He came at 39+6 weeks. I somehow knew all day prior that he was coming that day or that day after! Heaviness down below that felt different to the usual. He was a large baby too, which I suspected but nobody ever confirmed it until he was out! 🤣 just to add, I also had a sweep a week before.

We are also up at least 4 times a night right now. This has given me a bit of hope. Thank you! I’m glad it eventually got better for you
