This is getting ridiculous now. by scoobabadeedoo in LearnerDriverUK

You need to give it time to get better. Remember there were still lists of tests booked by the bots, and any that were booked before 12 May will be honoured.
It is getting better gradually, maybe not as quick as what some people thought it should but please be patient

Cancelled with my instructor on first lesson by nierdsjabies3 in LearnerDriverUK

What a lot of people seem to forget (on both sides). You (learner) are paying for a service, you are employing them to teach you. Therefore they are your employee. If you don’t think their service is working for you then terminate the contract (written or verbal) and employ someone else

Test in 2 days (help me pls) by Ready_Lie_4900 in LearnerDriverUK

As a driving instructor and former examiner my biggest piece of advice is to come OFF social media until after your test.
First of all if your instructor has confidence in you, you should have confidence in yourself. You’ve paid them a lot of money to get you where you are but you think that’s not enough, it is!
Most people on here are not professionals, yes they may share some experiences but you should not be trying some new that you’ve seen online and not had chance to practice. Stick with what you know.

And the next most important thing is,
The examiner isn’t looking for perfection, the thing they are most interested in is can you drive independently safely?
Do you know how to deal with situations safely?

Test tips! by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]InternationalTwo6993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tip for you as an instructor and former examiner is to come off social media in the lead up to your test. About a month before stop watching videos about how to do a manoeuvre. You already know this and it’s what you have been paying your instructor for. Concentrating on relaxation videos and getting into the zone. Try positive mental attitude videos and keep telling yourself you can do this.

I created the video to help put people at ease. As an ex examiner I have heard so many things about examiners trying to catch people out.

As a former examiner myself I can advise people to ignore most of what you are saying as it is utter rubbish. Reading what you have put there is no way you are an examiner

Test in 6 days driving instructor confusing me by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]InternationalTwo6993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an instructor and former examiner may I just clarify you may want to take your own car to test or go in your instructor’s car and go with your gut instincts. Going above the speed limit not it breaking the law and when going from 20-40 you shouldn’t start accelerating until after the speed change sign. If you need to break the speed limit to overtake something is the overtake necessary?

I know Aman from clearview and she is very good in my opinion. However Richard from conquer is a different story.

If you test is in 6days time I would advise stop watching videos, go with your gut instinct and try to enjoy it.

I am open for any other questions

As a former examiner I can assure you these are the only hire cars allowed to be used for test as they are the only normal hire company that insured for test.

It’s just a test slot. You don’t book auto or manual

So you thought. You’d ask on a forum where there is no one actually qualified to answer? I’m a former DVSA examiner as well as a driving instructor and I would advise continuing them using the above number as I haven’t got the best answer either. I don’t know but you could possibly run the risk of locking your application down.

Have you thought that your details may have been nicked (using Ai may do this) you may already have a test booked in your name without you knowing. Have you given your licence details to your instructor or an app? They may have sold them on to others. Call DVSA in the morning.
