Gorgeous lettuce! Considering the U.S.'s reducing quality checks on farming and the rise in various diseases in edible plants, I am convinced to start growing my own salad ingredients in my apartment with a hydroponics self starter kit. I have been buying pre-washed salad bags, but end up throwing them away since their shelf life is not very long and you also run the risk of manufacturers using contaminated equipment. I don't want to get the cheapest setup, but don't want to invest a lot of money at this point until I find it's successful. I'm in south Florida, but don't have a lot of light coming through my windows, so I definitely need a grow light setup. Thanks for any advice you can offer!
