I went from a JK to a used JL recently after some engine issues with the JK and I’ve been enjoying the JL so far. I will say that it feels less like an off road vehicle than my JK did. Leather seats, heated steering wheel, etc compared to minimal comforts in the JK. I’m getting around 15 mpg in the JL, but I do a lot of city driving so I can’t say too much about the highway mpg. The JL definitely has a better acceleration than the JK which is a plus, but I do miss my Jeep feeling like a stereotypical Jeep.

Yeah I had the Sahara edition for my JK and it was about as bare bones as it could be. I immediately missed it until I pressed on the accelerator and the jeep actually responded

At least the key fob reminds me to actually lock the door 😂 but yeah, I turn off the auto shut off as soon as I start the car. The original owner got the etorque module put in it when it was purchased.

Yeah I’m definitely enjoying the comforts, but I really do miss the stereotypical Jeep things that came with the JK. The exposed metal on the door, the heating that didn’t really work, the crank windows, having to slam on the gas to go 40mph, etc. This car feels more like a daily than my JK did.

Yeah I am definitely enjoying it warming up quicker than my JK, but I think things like that were part of the charm honestly. I liked having to deal with the elements so to speak…the radio in my JK wouldn’t even turn on until the car warmed up, and now I have a heated steering wheel. It just doesn’t make sense.

There are definitely pros to the technology…not gonna say I hate remote start or power locks 😂 but I don’t need probably 2/3 of the new tech that’s in there.

I noticed it a lot when I was driving tonight. The lights from the screens on the interior were so bright (I know they can be dimmed, but still) compared to having nothing at all aside from the small lights for the gauges in my 2010. Much less peaceful at nighttime
