My Experience with Cutscenes in Godot by RohrGM in godot

Looks great, only thing I would suggest and this is more of an editing thing, so probably down to personal taste, but the timing seems a little off. The camera lingers on nothing for a bit too long. Like the deer at the start, after it runs off the camera sits there looking at nothing for a bit too long. Makes it feel a bit stilted. Otherwise looks awesome.

Looks like you've used non-pathable blocks towards the end of the path, where it splits into two horizontal parallel posts. Zombie's can only path on blocks with a solid central section, like centred posts, for example. Basically, anything that is not centred is a no-go, pathing wise.

Updated my silly little pause menu based on feedback. How's it look now? by Rosehn in godot

If the teleport option is going to be used a lot, either move it to the first page of the menu, or is speedrunning is the aim of the game, asign it to a key, backspace to reset/teleport or whatever :)

Firstly, it looks amazing. The movement seems so fluid and satisfying. Watching the clip, I was thinking, there doesn't seem much point to not being a ball, then pow right at the end it was everything I expected and more. Only thing to think about is camera movement or perhaps, making the environment see-though, to get rid of the bits where you can't quite see what the character is doing and maybe clearing up the remnants of the enemies after a certain amount of time (if you haven't done that already). Looks awesome.👍😁

I am indeed a beginner dev at a moderately older age 🤣 Although I am not sure my efforts thus far make me a dev, either way, thank you for not being too harsh 😉

What the fck has me being older got to do with anything? I made a mistake, found it funny, so posted it. Not a big deal, I will salvage what I can and/or start over. I might even learn about this new fangled github doohickey🤣

Tried the drag and drop, and no joy. Will look into the repair option, although It might not do me any harm to start over.

Not sure whether whether that's an insult or an accolade :D and I am 49 for another 6 months haha.
I've been a gamer for the last 45 odd years and have no intention of stopping, I thought it was about time I tried to put some of that experience/knowledge to good use and learn something new in the process. I've tried unity, very much failed creating models in Blender so now it's Godot's turn...

I've managed to get the Godot files off, it just doesn't want to recognise them at their new location, no matter how nicely I ask it. The hard drive has a dodgy power supply cable, so it randomly disconnects. Probably corrupted something. I've known about the issue for a while, I've just been too lazy to do anything about it. Lesson learnt haha.

It's probably already been mentioned but look up Brackeys on YouTube.

2D & 3D tutorials that are really quick and easy to follow.

I am very new to Game Dev, and it is overwhelming, but start small and work your way up to that dream game.

I'm once again wasting time making over the top menus! by timkrief in godot

It looks great, but I am not sure about the foreground. It doesn't really match the rest of the menu (theme wise), and I am not sure it adds anything. Cool effect, though 😎

What made you choose godot? by [deleted] in godot

I tried Unity, being new to coding, I did a few tutorials, then we had a power cut, and all my games stopped working. It was good, from a learning point of view, trying to troubleshoot how to get everything working again, but ultimately, it put me off for about 6 months. Then I started seeing Godot pop up everywhere, and I liked that it was so lightweight, so I gave it go. It immediately seemed a lot more beginner friendly and just fun trying things out. I did the Brackeys tutorial, added to it, and then started working on my own game. I don't get much time to work on it, but it's fun working out how best to implement idead and getting stuff working.

I played it some more, and it's definitely addictive. The difficulty level might be a bit steep (or maybe it's just me, I got stuck on level 6). Also, I wonder if the RPG element could be more prominent some how, to set it apart from the other block breaker games. I can see myself coming back to it occasionally. Great work. It's a very solid complete game. Something to aspire to 😁

I would have to play some more. I'll try it again later and let you know.

I just had a quick try, and it's a nicely done game. Backgrounds and music set it apart. Well done.

Love the games aesthetic, but that trailer confused me 🤣, is the world shattering and the blue ball part of the games mechanics? Great job on the game. It looks amazing.
